IFC Update with Scoop Muldoon
IFC #3 Announced
After the craziness on Fight Night Live #11, we're officially on the road to IFC #3. IFC announced today that the next PPV will be held after FNL #14; and also announced the two big matches that will headline the show.
IFC #3 Main Event: Team Warfare
As fans saw on FNL; the women of IFC (with some prodding from Little Miss Spookiness) have decided that they aren't being respected, and issued a challenge to IFC Grand Champion War Hawk; and in turn, the entire male roster of IFC. In the days following the show, and some tense meetings between the IFC Matchmakers, Ratchet, and War Hawk; we can officially announce that the main event of IFC #3 will be called Team Warfare. The rules are as follows:
- Both teams will be at ringside, contained inside cages to keep the two teams separated during the match
- The match will be one-on-one for the duration, with one member of each team competing
- Before the match, one team will be awarded "Warfare Advantage"; they will be able to pick the fighters from each team who will start the match
- The loser of a fall is eliminated from the match; the winner gets to choose their next opponent from the opposing team
- Last team standing wins
The IFC also announced that a match will be scheduled for FNL 14; featuring a member of each team going 1-on-1 to determine who has Warfare Advantage.
IFC #3 Semi-Main Event: Best of 5 Team Series
We also saw another challenge thrown out; and IFC confirmed that team contest will ALSO take place at IFC #3. The Sentinels and The Messenger have agreed to take on Powermonger's team; but as of yet Powermonger has not announced his full team. Hopefully we'll get more information on that in the coming weeks.
IFC #3 Strikes Major Sponsorship Deal
Quickly after the announcement of the Team Warfare Match, IFC was reached by the WAHOO! Corporation to discuss sponsorship of the event. In a first, this IFC PPV will feature some corporate branding around it; as WAHOO! is sponsoring the main event, which will now be referred to as "The Team Warfare Match, Sponsored by WAHOO!" In addition to a non-disclosed agreement with IFC, WAHOO! is also putting up cash prizes to the winning team of Team Warfare. $250,000 will be split between the winners of the winning team, and the fighter(s) who score the most victories in the bout will receive an extra $50,000. An even bigger incentive for the fighters on each team to look forward to; and in the case of War Hawk, perhaps an incentive for fighters to join his team.
