Bionic Elbow #12Aftermath of the ThrowdownSix competitors had their first point battles, with three of them finally getting this opportunity since their debuts all the way back at Throwdown #10. The trio of Powermonger, Muck, and Stretchrrrr refused to fight against each other on this occasion, which the ISGP allowed, but as a result, there needed to be three new Free Agents to fight them. In the first bout of Throwdown #16, we saw Demtor the Mystic defeat the murky monstrosity Muck. Then, Stretchrrrr would avenge his partner's loss by defeating the vampiric X'ian. Finally, in the clash of lifestyles, the hard-hitting underground brawler UK Bruiser defeated the crime boss Powermonger to the delight of all in attendance, which Bruiser did not seem to care about in the slightest.
In a #1 Contender's Fight, Little Miss Spookiness was able to outmaneuver the super beast known as Rabbid, and will cash in her title opportunity after the pay-per-view against either La Cerdita or Punk A.D. We at the Bionic Elbow conducted an interview with the new #1 Contender, which will be printed in the issue after the pay-per-view.
We have also seen the recent comeback story of one Mr. Ion. He has gotten his first two wins, with his latest coming from Freakenstein at Throwdown #18. Here is what he had to say on the matter:
"I will admit, my time here in the IFC has been...less than super. I held myself to a standard that I would clean up the crime and villainy that comes into the IFC, and I have not been doing a good job. When I saw that I was not going to represent the Free Agents team in the battle against the Champions of Infinity, it was a wake-up call for me. Now that I have two victories to my name, I am just one step closer to being Grand Champion, and with that, all of the ne'er do wells will flock right to me, where, with one GAMMA SLAM, they will feel the fury...of JUSTICE!"
A Murky SituationAt Throwdown #16, Muck was defeated by Demtor the Mystic in his first point battle. Powermonger believes that his big muddy insurance policy was distracted by someone in the audience, specifically a blonde woman in the front row, and he would go on to make a very bold claim to us here at the Bionic Elbow.
"I know that was you in the crowd, Little Miss Spookiness. I know that was you distracting Muck. I saw those ankh earrings hiding in your hair. I'll only warn you once, stay out of my business, and stay away from Muck."
A rather bold claim, indeed, as Little Miss Spookiness won a #1 Contender's Fight against Rabbid later on in the night. Grand Stand: IFC #6These two met in the Champions vs. Free Agents battle, but now it is for something much greater. La Cerdita wants to not only keep her title, but avenge her loss to Punk A.D. She had some words about her latest setback.
"Last time we met, one thing happened that I cannot deny: I lost. However...I want to thank you for beating me. I was beginning to get complacent. I put too much focus on the team battle, so much so that I wasn't seeing you as a viable threat to this title. Well, no more. I've seen firsthand what you can do, and I won't underestimate you again. I WON'T lose to you again!"
The inaugural Grand Champion had some words of his own for the champion:
"I could tell just by looking at you that your all wasn't in that fight. You cared more for the Free Agents than you did for what's most important, and that cost you. You better not make that same mistake twice; otherwise, that Grand Championship returns to its rightful home. I didn't thin the herd of contenders just to lose here. I've traveled all over time, honing my craft, and I've seen the future, and that future does not include you holding that title." Death Star: Behind the MaskHeya, folks! How's it goin'? It's your favorite neighborhood Death Star here, and I know what you're thinking: "Death Star, you attractive stallion, you. How did you manage to get in the Bionic Elbow?" Well, let me tell you, all I did was write this up, and sneak myself into the press room for one of those printing guys to unknowingly put it in. Yeah, I'm talking about you, Frank. I know you aren't a morning person, so you're welcome for the sales increase.
Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah. I want to vent a little about something. And that is: HOW IN THE HECK DID I LOSE TO THAT FAT PIECE OF BACON?! Yeah, I'm talking about La Cerdita. I beat that reindeer Comet (Seriously, a reindeer?) I decimated that bush league karate fighter Ken Po, and I destroyed that babbling Messenger. Seriously, dude. You need to just sit back and relax. All your talk of doom and gloom is just annoying everyone. All that, and I LOSE?! SOMEONE must not be rolling enough 3's for me! You know who you are...
Now, who's my opponent for IFC #6? Let me just check the player's Excel spreadsheet here, and...Oh, Warhawk. Well, if the Indian is like everyone else in Cleveland, I should steamroll him in like 1 minute. What? The Cavaliers? Bah, whatever! Who watches basketball anyway? Anyway, I'll see you all later. Bionic Elbow #13An ApologyWe at the Bionic Elbow would like to extend an apology to our readers for allowing Death Star's article to be run through early editions of the magazine. This will not happen again. IFC #6 ResultsAnother outstanding pay-per-view has come and gone, and we have a NEW Grand Champion. Punk A.D. became a two-time Grand Champion by going 2-0 against La Cerdita. The champion was close at times to winning either round, but the Human Time Machine proved to be too much, which unfortunately showed at the end of the night, as the last thing the holovision-viewing audience saw was the former champion sitting in the center of the arena in defeat. Backstage, we tried to get a word with the former champion as she was leaving the arena, but she ignored our questions. We at the Bionic Elbow wish the best for La Cerdita in this rough patch she is going through.
In their first point fight, Chris De Flames defeated Bien Vestido. Warhawk earned 1 point by defeating Death Star (0). UK Bruiser lost his first point by facing Party Pirate (1), and this win by Party Pirate has set up the next contender for IFC #7, which will be elaborated on later. Buck Tomkins (0) scored a point against Tiki Boom (0). Saint Nick (1) and Stretchrrrr (1) lost their points to their respective opponents, Rabbid (0) and Connor (0). Bobcat Jack (0) immediately tapped out to the Power Lock by Powermonger (0) for one point.
Win StreaksAfter a pay-per-view, we will have a segment dedicated to showing who is in what standing in title contendership, and here is the first batch of Win Streaks: Three Wins Little Miss Spookiness (to face Punk A.D. at Throwdown #19)
Two Wins Celsius, Mr. Ion, Party Pirate, Yoko-Ohno
One Win Buck Tomkins, Chris De Flames, Connor, Demtor the Mystic, Fahrenheit, Honest Abe, Ken Po, The Messenger, Powermonger, Rabbid, Tick Tock, Vincitor, Warhawk
Zero Wins Alexander, Bobcat Jack, Bien Vestido, Butterfly Haley Jean, Comet, Death Star, Freakenstein, Krusher Khan, La Cerdita, Muck, Ratchet, Rocky, Saint Nick, Stretchrrrr, Tiki Boom, UK Bruiser, X'ian UnassignedHavoc Killbourne Mini TournamentAfter IFC #6, we have four competitors with two wins on their Win Streaks, all of them just one win away from contendership. The ISGP have decided to do a four-person mini tournament across the next three Throwdown shows, with the winner going to IFC #7 to fight the winner of Punk A.D. and Little Miss Spookiness.
At Throwdown #19, we will see the two people of this group deemed the dark horses: Mr. Ion and Yoko-Ohno. The next show, Throwdown #20, will feature the two former Grand Champions squaring off: Party Pirate and Celsius, in a rematch from IFC #3. The finals of this will take place at Throwdown #21, with the winner moving on to challenging for the Grand Championship at IFC #7. Fighter BiographiesWe have reached the end of the Free Agent Initiative, and we are on our final three fighters. First is the boxer Hollywood Gunn. A gold medalist in two different weight classes, he is also able to pack a punch in Openweight fights. With the IFC being an Openweight fight league, this should not present a problem. Everyone in the ISGP would like to see a boxing match between him and Rocky, but he first must fight Comet, and after that, Havoc Killbourne for a first point between them.
Spanish for "The Falcon," El Halcón is yet another luchador who started from nothing to become one of the best in on Earth. He is looking to expand this to the galaxy when he comes here to the IFC. As we stated before, there is a history here between this man and the other luchador present in the IFC: Bien Vestido. These two have woo'd the cosmos in their Best of 7 Series, and this has not gone unnoticed by the ISGP. They are looking to outdo this legendary series after Halcón faces his Sentinel and this final Free Agent here.
From the planet Pandora, Txur'itan once ruled as its king. Pandora hosts an annual event known as the Ascension, where the denizens fight in a grueling hand-to-hand tournament, with the winner getting the opportunity to fight for the crown of king. Txur'itan won this tournament 7 times, once to become the king, and 6 successful defenses. He unfortunately lost in his 8th, but at this point, he is looking to expand his horizons. He prefers to strike his opponent with throws being reserved to get some space between his opponent, if he needs to. Little Miss Champion?Little Miss Spookiness has been making waves in the IFC since her debut, for better or for worse, depending on who you talk to. She may have lost her first two fights, but she has since become the new #1 Contender for the Grand Championship, and is now about to face Punk A.D. to become the second woman to hold the championship right after La Cerdita lost it. Here is what Little Miss Spookiness has to say about her title match:
"What a good day to be me! I have the chance to wear that big, shiny belt around my waist, and my cards never lie to me: I will end Punk's reign as champion before it could get the chance to start."
On the subject of La Cerdita's breakdown, here is what she said:
"Oh, don't you fret, little piggie. I'll win that title back for you, and I'LL be the one to show everyone what women can really do!"
We then asked her about the accusations made by Powermonger about distracting Muck, and she surprisingly admitted to the whole thing:
"Aw, you're no fun! OK, you got me. I was in the crowd during Muck's match. And no, I'm not going to stop. I want Muck to be mine! Also, annoying you is SOOO much fun!" Bionic Elbow #14 Aftermath of the ThrowdownPunk A.D. continues to show why he says he is the greatest Grand Champion the IFC will ever see after a successful 2-0 title defense against Little Miss Spookiness, just after winning the championship from La Cerdita, who has still not shown up since this crushing defeat.
The #1 Contender's tournament has come to an end, and everybody is shocked with the result! In a stunning upset, Mr. Ion went all the way by defeating Yoko-Ohno, and then Party Pirate in the final round to get an opportunity to face Punk A.D. at IFC #7. Can the Atomic Avenger prove that his setbacks don't define him by capturing gold? Or will the Human Time Machine set the clocks back on Ion's celebration plans?
Speaking of contenders, the next one must be decided, as we now have two people who have reached 2 wins in their Win Streaks: the Galactic Grappler, Vincitor, and the 16th President of the United States, Honest Abe. These two will meet in a #1 Contender's Fight where the winner will go on to IFC #8 to face either Punk A.D. or Mr. Ion.
The Free Agent Initiative has finally concluded, with the final crop of three fighters making their debuts in Sentinel Showdown fights, where all three were successful, but two in particular established dominance by gaining a Fast Forward victory on their respective Sentinels. The brash boxer Hollywood Gunn hit one of his famous rights on an unsuspecting Comet, and the native of Pandora Txur'itan wished Saint Nick a black and blue Christmas by quickly knocking him out with a huge kick. Of course, we cannot leave out the luchador El Halcón, who had a very incredible showing against the Second Realm Saint, Connor. New ChampionshipThe IFC roster is currently sitting at an even 40 competitors, and there are a great many of them that do not seem to be reaching the levels they wish to in the title rankings. With all this in mind, the ISGP have decided to officially commission a brand new championship here in the IFC, and have placed the order for the title to be made by the fine people at the Asteroid Belt Company. However, some representatives of the ISGP have told us at the Bionic Elbow that this will be a very different championship in comparison to the Grand Championship, the top prize in this company. Not only will this title not be tied to Win Streaks, making contending for the title easier, but it will feature its own set of rules, which are as follows *All fights are three rounds. However, this championship will NOT adhere to the World Warrior Rule. *Each round will be timed for 99 seconds. *At the end of each round, fighters will receive a 20-second rest period. *During this time, a panel of 3 judges will score each fighter for that round using the 10-point must system. *The judge's scorecards will be displayed after each round. *A fight can be won by normal means, or at the end of all three rounds, where whoever wins the most rounds of the 3 will be declared the winner. The name of these rules will reflect the name of the title, as, starting at the next Throwdown, and ending at IFC #8, we will have a tournament under these rules to crown the first ever IFC Kombat Championship. Grand Stand: IFC #7Punk A.D. is back on top of the mountain, and, heading into his fight against Mr. Ion, the Champion of Infinity had a few choice words for his challenger:
"You're joking, right? My next opponent is some grown man in tights playing superhero? Don't make me laugh! Listen, buddy. You aren't ready to face me for this, even though you got those three points and won some kind of tournament. When you first came here, you were getting crushed left, right, and center. I was starting to think you were NEVER going to win! Well, you're on top of the mountain with me, and I will show you once and for all that there is no room on Metal Mountain for two of us."
Not deterred, Mr. Ion had some words of his own to share with reporters here at the Bionic Elbow for his opponent: "You are absolutely right about the first impression I've made here in the IFC. However, I will not let that define me, as I have proven by defeating Party Pirate, the favorite in the final round of the Grand title tournament. I will continue to be the beacon of hope for those who feel they can't accomplish their goals. I will be the justice that the IFC desperately needs, and one more thing, Punk, I don't play superhero. You know what they say: 'Seeing is believing,' and when we finally meet face-to-face, you will believe that I am the real deal." Death Star: Behind the MaskGuess who's back? Back again? Death Star's back. Tell your friends. No, seriously, tell your friends. This thing needs more customers. Anyway, heya, folks! It's your favorite neighborhood Death Star once again, and you may be wondering "Death Star, you sly fox. How did you get back into the Bionic Elbow?" Simple, they asked me. They told that they sold more issues of this magazine than any other when they found out I had an article. At first, I was a bit hesitant, but I agreed on a few conditions: My own dressing room, chimichangas at catering, and a life-sized gold statue of yours truly. When they told me they didn't have that kind of power, they said they'd pay me alongside what I already make as an IFC fighter, and I said "Deal!"
So, what's on the agenda for today? Oh, yeah. Let's talk about how I whooped, uh...Bye-en? Bee-en...Vest-eye-do? Look, can I just call you Ben? Much easier. Anyway, I beat Ben in the center of that cage, and I'm one step closer to that Grand Championship! I can see it now: The movie deals, the women, and so much money, that I can swim in it like a cartoon duck! Yeah...Anyway, there's something I have to ask: Who still wears sweater vests? Seriously, those things are for geeks and nerds. And what's with the mask? You embarrassed or something? What? No, shut up! I'll have you know that if I didn't have this mask on, I'd give every woman within a 5 mile radius a heart attack with how drop-dead gorgeous I am! Anyway, before I go, I have one more grievance to let out, and this goes out to whoever's booking this game: I checked that Excel spreadsheet of yours (Seriously, people actually use that?) and I noticed that I'm not booked for the next pay-per-view. WHY?! If you had me, those buy rates would go up like 6,000,000% guaranteed. Heck, I ain't even on the promotional poster for Throwdown! Oh, gotta make room for the booker's golden boy Vincitor. Anyway, I'm done rambling. There are some chimichangas in the office fridge with my name on them.
