I'm really enjoying this thread, it's great seeing the recaps and what's hot/not for everyone and tidbits of info like last title shot, streaks and the like. I don't get to play or post my league much, but right now I'm in the post-Infinitus era with him having a couple matches since the defeat and then moving on when losing to Saint Nick. War Hawk and Stallion feud saw Ricky destroy Hawk's sacred head dress, then those 2 having an Indian strap match at the Aftershock event. Krusher Khan ends event by defeating Death Star to win the IFC Championship. KK was attacked by former champion X'ian, who made a statement with a bite to the neck, stating he wants his belt back! Seeds are being planted for a Dragon Blood and Mega Power feud, which I'm hoping plays out like I want it to.

Death Star has made it through 4 of the 7 so far.
Bobcat Jack suffered a loss to Demtor the Mystic and is now in the position of being in a must win situation. Another loss and he might be in danger of falling out of the top 10 for the first time ever in the IFC.

So I'm considering doing an annual Duos tournament where you get the belts and then new champions get crowned the next year. I want to do Duos but I don't necessarily want to get them in my mainline IFC due to record keeping that I do. I may also do a spinoff promotion of just Duos matches.

I like the tournament idea especially for trios. Think i might have to steal that!

My promotion is based on W-L record and works like an MMA promotion. The Duos thing just wouldn't fit so I'm trying to figure out how I want to approach it. I really like the tournament idea though because it let's you experiment with teams and such.

A tournament style in a league that's MMA would be good, in fact you could almost base it on the Style Battle...

My IFC was originally tournament based like the original UFC but I drifted away from that after a few shows.
But I like the idea of doing it as a tournament. And if I decide to have a full time division the annual tournament can kick it off.

Well, yesterday I did a 32 man single elimination tournament to crown the first IFC Grand Champion. It was won by TXUR'ITAN.

Powermonger in the final. I was hoping for Red Cyclone to win (my favorite character) but he was eliminated in the semis.

War Hawk becomes the first fighter in the IFC to successfully defend the Grand Championship twice. He has successful defenses over Rabbid and X'ian now. UK Bruiser was looking at a title shot if he beat Bobcat Jack but Jack proved he is still one of the top fighters with a victory. Jack becomes the first fighter in the IFC to win 20 fights. His record is 20-7 now. IFC 24 is up next and will have War Hawk defending against PowerMonger.

I really like the tournament idea though because it let's you experiment with teams and such. How I worked around this problem, since my promotion also works like an MMA promotion, is to break the Duos match into singles fights. If each team wins one fight, then the winners of the two fights fight a third deciding fight. If one team wins both fights, then they win the Duos match. Doing this allowed me to maintain singles records for every fighter. It's a little more work to do this, but it fits an MMA-style promotion.
