Hello. I was just wondering how everyone handles storylines and plots and angles. Do you let the dice dictate... ? Or do you create storylines of your own? I'm just curious...

Of course I give people things to go by, but the dice are really good about helping me. Whether it's a FF "fluke" or something else. I also look at others and think that they would be good in a program and try that out. It doesn't always work out.

The dice sets the tone for the most part, but I do book stories that may go or may not go the way I'd like it, but adapting is part of it...

I usually have a few sketched out storylines that will take place. However, the dice have full control in how it plays out. More often than not, I need to improvise and go in a new direction as these dice have a mind of their own. It helps to keep the creative juices flowing by adapting to what the dice give me.

It all depends on how you play. If you treat it like UFC, where each fight is booked with no idea where you are going, then it becomes more of a combat sport.
If you roll out matches and backwards book your stuff, then it is much more like pro-wrestling

If you roll out matches and backwards book your stuff, then it is muck more like pro-wrestling I do a little combination of these two things. I have broad strokes direction I'd like to go but I let the dice be teh final decider. Sometimes an angle will work regardless of who wins, and sometimes I have a backup plan if my main idea doesnt "roll out" quite right.
This is actually my favorite part about these types of games- the art of "reactive storytelling" that forces you to figure out how to make logical sense out of an outcome you largely didnt control.
