RETRO IFC 1 - Crowning of the Heavyweight ChampionThe first eight fighters have been signed to RETRO IFC, and one of them will become the first-ever Heavyweight Champion. A single elimination tournament will take place tonight. Win, and move on. Lose, and you're done.
The brackets are as follows:
Muck vs. Grim
Powermonger vs. Freakenstein
Krusher Khan vs. Torn
Rykezilla vs. Squatch
Some pundits say there isn't enough draw power in the tournament, and that it's designed for a Powermonger/Squatch final. Well, as we all know, anything can happen in the world of IFC.
Grim def. Muck -- Grim came out strong, and dominated this match from the get-go. The crowd seemed impressed with the 400lb monster.
Freakenstein def. Powermonger -- The crowd was stunned when Powermonger went down, as it looked like he may have the upper hand. However, this match went long to the point where either man could take it. Somehow, Freakenstein pulled out the victory, and the crowd exploded. Will he have anything left for when he takes on Grim in the next round?
Torn def. Krusher Khan -- Torn had Khan down and out, but someone Khan got up right before the match ended (powerplay). He tried to comeback, but Torn just kept the pressure on. Khan may be U.S.S.R through and through, but the crowd sure got behind him here!
Rykezilla def. Squatch -- Another upset! Rykezilla just kept moving forward, throwing Bro Fist after Bro Fist. Squatch just couldn't keep up!
Freakenstein def. Grim -- Talk about an ambush! The Freak knew he did not have as much in the tank, and he just went for the win right away. Grim could not mount a defence, and Freak quickly picked up the win. The IFC has a new star. He says he will inherit the Earth, but it looks like he may inherit the gold as well.
Rykezilla def. Torn -- Although much shorter, Rykezilla kept taking Torn down and landing some devastating G&P. Eventually, Torn just gave up. The two finalists were not well-known prior to this event, but they're known now. It seems the Freak is the favourite here.
Rykezilla def. Freakenstein -- Rykezilla was absolutely crushing The Freak -- beating him within an inch of his life. The Freak kept asking for more (powerplay) and Ryke delivered. The fans began to cheer hard for The Freak, but Ryke was too strong. He would pummel on Freak until the referee decided it was enough. Rykezilla was the first-ever RETRO IFC Heavyweight Champion.
