SFC2: Ancestral Majesty Championship Tournament (cont)
First Round:
Group 5: The order for this group was El Pikador, Air Wolf, Dragon Blood, and Ellepatra. To begin, Air Wolf quickly squashed El Pikador. Next, the cathedral witnessed one of the greatest displays of combat to date. Both Dragon Blood and Air Wolf displayed high octane offensive moves that left the crowd speechless; after numerous near falls, Dragon Blood sealed the victory with DRAGON CROSS. Despite his fatigue, Dragon Blood went on to win the next four bouts and solidify his position as a significant force in this tournament.
Group 6: FireStopper and Franny Stein begin, followed by Bien Vestido and finally Vampiress. Franny Stein came back and beat FireStopper after sustaining quite a bit of offense (MONSTER MASH). Despite putting up a good fight, Franny lost to Bien Vestido (AZTEC SUPLEX). After a good contest, Bien Vestido defeated Vampiress. FireStopper, fresh off some motivational speaking by General Shuck, quickly beat Bien Vestido but lost a close one to a surging Franny Stein (MONSTER MASH). Franny Stein destroyed both Vampiress and Bien Vestido, securing her passage to the final round.
ROUND 2 QUALIFIERS: General Shuck, Shadow, Dragon Blood, Mickey, El Halcon, and Franny Stein
For the semi-finals, two fighters will be selected to join the 6 qualifiers. These fighters should be those who stood out in the first round but failed to secure the victory.

Semi-Finals:
After a close vote, the Council voted both Air Wolf and Serenity back into the tournament. The fans erupted at the news, as both fighters had proven both honorable and electrifying. The semi-final groupings, listed in order of battle, are:
Group 1: Air Wolf, Franny Stein, General Shuck, and Shadow
Group 2: Serenity, El Halcon, Mickey, and Dragon Blood
The winner of each group will advance to the finals. The remaining may qualify for a second chance voting, conditional on gaining a single victory within their group. Should more than two fighters qualify for the second chance, the Council will hold another vote.
Group 1: After a good contest, Air Wolf defeated Franny Stein (HOWL AT THE MOON). Next, he quickly took down a highly motivated General Shuck (who was none-to-happy about the loss!). Shadow ended Air Wolf’s hot streak with a quick inside leg sweep, then eliminated Franny Stein from the competition. In a fury, General Shuck destroyed Shadow (FAST FORWARD) but could not keep his composure in his rematch with Air Wolf; Air Wolf defeated General Shuck and Shadow to secure the group and a spot in the finals!
Group 2: Serenity lost a good battle against El Halcon, who then fell to Mickey (A TWIST OF YARN). Mickey went on to withstand a massive offensive by Dragon Blood, stealing a victory after a Christmas Punch. Serenity took advantage of a weary Mickey (DOUBLE DRAGON), but lost her rematch against El Halcon. El Halcon and Dragon Blood had a nail-biting bout, with El Halcon coming out on top. Mickey, though, dominated El Halcon and won the group.
QUALIFIERS FOR THE FINALS: Air Wolf and Mickey
QUALIFIERS FOR A SECOND CHANCE: El Halcon, Serenity, General Shuck, and Shadow.

Air Wolf vs. Mickey, that is a unique and cool showdown and you know I'm pulling for Mickey... It is exciting! Both fought hard and put on impressive showings, especially after suffering their first loss. Now to find the two others Air Wolf and Mickey will face in the gauntlet scramble match...it's time for the Council to vote!

Finals:
“You wanted to see me, General?” Mickey asked.
“Yes, Mickey...look, I got back in this thing by the skin of my teeth but you earned it. I’m going to fight my damnedest to win, but I’m pulling for you soldier!” General Shuck gave Mickey a sharp salute and headed to the ring.
Final Round: El Halcon and General Shuck begin, followed by Air Wolf and Mickey. El Halcon and General Shuck battled in an amazing bout, both fighters proving why the Council for them. El Halcon, though, gained the edge hitting repeated EL HALCON PUNCHES for the win. Next, El Halcon and Air Wolf put on such a display of athleticism that the audience was stunned into silence; Air Wolf showed great resilience but finally succumbed to a devastating EL HALCON punch. Mickey charged into the ring, looking to take advantage of a tired El Halcon. Her aggression got the best of her as El Halcon scored a quick victory.
Despite the apparent exhaustion in El Halcon, he managed to knock out General Shuck with a single EL HALCON PUNCH (FAST FORWARD!) and eliminating the General from the match. It being El Halcon’s turn to demonstrate resilience, he and Air Wolf had another great contest which saw El Halcon slip away with yet another victory. Barely able to stand, he faced the final threat in Mickey. Mickey, needing to gain two falls on El Halcon for the win, quickly gained the first fall with a TWIST OF YARN. The next fall saw two great competitors battle, where El Halcon demonstrated an inhuman endurance and Mickey displayed her craftiness and grit; Mickey gained the win and becomes the first Ancestral Majesty Champion.
After the bout, the CCRC came out to celebrate with Mickey. Before they got too carried away, Mickey got their attention and nodded toward a battered and weary El Halcon. The CCRC looked at General Shuck, who gave a curt nod. The team moved toward El Halcon, then helped him stand and raised his hand. “You honor me?” El Halcon asked Mickey.
“No, son...it’s you who honored me. I look forward to our next battle,” she said before she gave El Halcon a stiffer than expected slap on the back. The crowd popped with excitement and the Cathedral began humming and emitting a strange glow. As the crowd cheered louder, the hum and glow intensified and then disappeared.
***PROMOTER'S NOTE: After El Halcon's third win, I felt the need to give him an extra POP. In light of the extra burden, he still put on a heck of an outing. I debated on handing him another one after his battle with Air Wolf, but thought that might be a little much. I'm open to any thoughts/suggestions others may have on it. Thanks!

News of the Tim Rocket, Sr. Memorial Cup spread throughout the galaxy. No one knew who established or promoted the tournament, but there was genuine excitement among the fighters and fans. Never had there been such an event before, and many thought that Powermonger’s takeover of the IFC ended any chance of such an inclusive opportunity. Despite the fervor it caused, the event had some element of mystery. Who was its promoter?
As soon as the news reached the cathedral, the Council quickly assembled and discussed the SFC’s involvement. Someone was holding a massive duos tournament to honor a great fighter, and the transmission requested the SFC send 5 teams to participate. While there was some hesitation due to the possibility of encountering Powermonger again, the announcement was adamant that any conflict outside of the tournament would not be tolerated. In a unanimous vote, the Council approved the SFC’s participation and determined that the following teams would participate: Little Miss Spookiness and Muck (2/3ds Triumph Battle Masters Champions); Harrow and Hexx; Shadow and Enigma; DesertMarine and FireStopper; and Ellepatra and Lady Sunbyrd. The Council notified the teams, then adjourned to begin preparations.
...meanwhile, back at the “Danger Zone”...
Powermonger had just finished ‘defending’ his Intergalactic Grand Championship again...another easy win. Just another opponent who was willing to listen to reason and a whole lot of cash, unlike all the others who were either vanquished or just vanished. “Frac them,” Powermonger thought, “I’ve got exactly what I want...in time, I’ll have it all.”
His scrawny, academic assistant cautiously approached. “Sir...this transmission just arrived.” Powermonger snatched the com-viewer and skimmed the message.
“The Tim Rocket, Sr. Memorial Cup? I’ll be damned...looks like we have an opportunity to figure out what all the others are up to, don’t we?” Powermonger said with a chuckle. “Grattock...Bratto…”
“It’s Vrob, sir.”
“Whatever...get the Hordesman and have them come to see me immediately. Looks like our duos division is in for some excitement...”

The Tim Rocket, Sr Memorial Cup: First Round Retrograde Partition
- The Spinebusters, Outlaw and Olympia, defeated Street Fight Heros, Papa Dhark and Ken Po. Ken Po had Outlaw dead to rights, but a sneaky low blow by Olympia allowed Outlaw to regain the advantage and victory.
- The Sunroar Dynasty, Ellepatra and Lady Sunbyrd, quickly defeated Mantus and Nerio. Lady Sunbyrd nailed Nerio with the Sunbyrd strike to seal the win.
Zenith Partition
- Kay Fabe and Thunderkitty defeated the Cold Blooded Hearts (Marksman and Blacksmith). A good contest that saw Thunderkitty finally overwhelm Blacksmith with a painful series of Thunderous Chops.
- The Tomkins Family (Buck and Jane Tomkins) upset Little Miss Spookiness and Muck. Jane was a fighting fury and dispatched Muck with the Hip Kicker!
“Their loss shows weakness, your highness.” “Yes, which the Council will be forced to recognize our success. And with that recognition, we will have our opportunity...and the Sunroar Dynasty will rule the Council!”
More first round action to come! There are still two more matches for each of the Retrograde and Zenith partitions, as well as four matches each for the Pulsar and Nadir partitions. Stay tuned!

The Tim Rocket, Sr Memorial Cup: First Round (continued)
“They were happy to oblige us, sentinel...or should I say harbinger of vengeance?” the man said cooly as he entered the room. The other man simmered, looked up and smiled. “Then let’s fire up those traitors and burn down the house.” Steam followed the two as they made their way to the cage.
Pulsar Partition
- In a surprise first round match-up, the Second Realm Saints faced Fahrenheit and Celsius in a great battle of bitter rivals. Fahrenheit and Celsius got the win and some measure of vengeance for the Saints’ betrayal and alliance with Powermonger. The two teams continued to brawl after the match, requiring additional security and fighters to separate them.
- Team AxeTreme (Val Kano and Snofight) defeated DesertMarine and Firestopper in a very fast bout; Val Kano submitted Firestopper with the Lavarmbar.
Nadir Partition
- A new team, Flux and Crux, faced the diabolical Trixter and his partner April Fool. Trixter hit Last Laugh on Flux for a win, only it seemed like Trixter might have hit it twice. Medical staff explained the experience as massive simultaneous deja-vu.
- Tax Burden (Examiner and Auditor) defeated Harrow and Hex in a good contest that saw both teams show great heart. Examiner finally ended it with the Code of Ethics on Hexx.
