adam and I have been trying a new way of playing duos fights with D6 instead of D8.
Each member of the team rolls a D6 to start the match for Fast Forward. If there is only one successful Fast Forward, the opponent with the lowest roll takes the first hit. If both members of a team roll Fast Forward, then the team chooses which opponent is hit by each team member. The opponents Fast Forward roll outcomes are determined in the same manner. If Fast Forward is not rolled by anyone, then the team with the highest total of 2D6 starts on Positive with the highest roll attacking the lowest rolling opponent.
RUMBLE RATING does not roll as normal. Instead, the fighter on Positive rolls D6:
1-3: RUMBLE as normal.
4-5: SWITCH to partner attacking his opponent on Positive.
6: SWITCH to partner attacking your (current) opponent on Positive.
Some fights will have a lot of Switching, but strangely other fights have very few. This is a very interesting development. This represents all four men fighting in the ring at the same time. Sometimes, weird things happen to shake things up.
The only other thing that is different is Power Play. When a fighter fails a POP roll and moves to Power Play, the fighter rolling against Power Play rolls 2D6 and uses ALL Power Play numbers from each team member.
For example:
Nitro of NuBreed fails his POP and rolls 2D6. His Power Play number is 1, and his partner Turbo's Power Play number is 3. If Nitro rolls a 1 or a 3 on 2D6 then the fight continues! If the roll that saves the fight matches Turbo's (the partner) number, then it was Turbo that made the save and Turbo continues the attack on Positive against the former attacker. If Nitro rolls his own Power Play number, then his opponent continues on Positive as normal.
So, if you'd like to try something more in line with the normal game mode, give this a try and let us know what you think.
