Hi folks! I was curious....does this group observe strict face-heel guidelines when determining match-ups? Or do you just let rivalries develop naturally, without real regard to the whole face-heel dynamic?
I've tended to stick with face-heel in my GFP fed, but have had some recent rivalries break out between 2 faces, or 2 heels for that matter.....the "fans" (i.e., me!) decided who would be the face or heel in those match ups!
In sports, face or heel really just depends upon of which team you happen to be a fan. If I'm a fan of the Chiefs, for example, the 49er's are the heels. And I wonder if I miss out on great feuds or rivalries sometimes, because I happen to favor a more face-heel dynamic. Just curious as to what y'all's experiences are...there are no right or wrong answers!
Thanks folks!

I say I'm a mix of yes and no. I have groups and whatnot that seemingly align with good and evil (camps like Team America, the Sentinels, and the CCRC are good, while Powermonger Inc, Immortals and D.U.S.T. are evil.) I have a share of pretty neutral camps as well. Mystical Realm, while once one of the two evil factions during the IFC vs. PMI vs. Infinitus stuff, are a bit more neutral since Infinitus has surrendered the war. Fighting Zoo, Old School, and my own Sterling Stars I feel are very tweener.
Basically, I DO have some focus on good vs. bad, but I'm not focusing too hard on it. I try to book New Japan style, with camps and matches made from just about any purpose to allow for more creative flow and freedom. I HAVE toyed with the idea of doing a ranking system and restarting all my win-loss records, but I decided against it.

I like having the records if for nothing else than to make sure I rotate some people in. Also I like my Redemption tournament where if you lose you don't get your contract back. So it is a way for those with high losses to get off the roster and make way for the next set of characters.

Good stuff guys! I'm working to be a little more "New Japan" style myself, with more "camps" if you will, and while still favoring face vs. heel, I think I'm going to let some rivalries just develop on their own, and see where they take me. And that was an incredibly long, run-on sentence! Anyway, a strict adherence to face vs. heel can in fact be a bit limiting, so I'm going to loosen the reigns. For example, 2 of my greatest babyfaces in my fed's history are Warhawk and Dante Giordano, but lately, it just seems like they are heading towards a conflict, in a Bruno-Pedro Martinez kinda way. So, I'm going to let that unfold....maybe this could turn Warhawk, kinda like Wahoo eventually turned? Who knows, and that'll be the fun of it!

I try to have several true faces and heels, but I tend to have a fair amount of tweeners. For example: Yoko Ohno is clearly a heel (in my fed) and Shane Stud is a face, but others might now see things that way. I think the big thing about heels is that they feel that what they are doing is right, even if they have to cheat to achieve their goals. As long as nothing seems completely implausible, face or heel motivations can work
