Loving GFP so far! Thanks for all of your advice last week, I have been reading feds, thinking feds, my own fed has started. One thing I enjoy about this game is I think about booking angles as I am doing other things, it is a great mental release.
My question for the group today is -- what is your favorite heel turn you have booked? What about in your favorite in pro wrestling?
I am getting set for my first big heel turn, Big South is at some point in the near future going to turn on Steve Stampede. The dice haven't been going Steve's way in some bigger matches, and Big South has been to this point a good mentor and friend, but soon that will change.
My favorites in pro wresting would probably two that made so angry as a kid -- the Road Warriors turning on Sting and Dusty Rhodes and Andre turning on Hogan.

Real World - I am in the same boat with you with the Road Warriors turning on Sting & Dusty My *IFC - Southern G Logan Alexander turning on Punk A.D., but those two are now reunited in my 16th game year

Hogan being the third member was pretty memorable. As a young kid, Andre's turn on Hogan was shocking.
In the game, I only really have one. I feel that the best heel turns need to be after guys/girls are really established. So Dawn's turn on the Haley, La Cerdita, Chloe, & Paige to join the sIstErs Of Alt was big. It also lead to the return of Sara Delmato to the ring.

Real World...Paul Orndorff turning on Hulk Hogan was huge and it cemented my dislike of Hogan (I was/am a heel mark) I was SOOOO disappointed when Orndorff never became champ
Game wise when Saint Nick turned on the IFC & joined forces with the "devil" Devylan Kaine

Oh my! A Saint Nick heel turn! That would be shocking! One of my favorite wrestling timeline/story lines is that with Hogan's nWo turn that Bobby Heenan may have been right all along.

I did mine as a real sport for the first 5 out of the 7 years I have played. I haven't actually really done any heel turns

Mine was the Second Realm Saints leading to a big angle (I won't spoil it in case you haven't read it yet, but it leads to a real story arc in IFC 2). Real world was a few. One was Andre/Hogan and Hogan/Orndorff, then Manny Fernandez turning on Jimmy Valiant to join Paul Jones in the NWA. Also Hogan going rogue with the nWo was a shocker, but I should have seen it coming.

Yeah not only did I turn Saint Nick but a "feeling left out of the fun & games" Trixster put him down...yes permanently

In the game, I had a storyline where Tick Tock played mind games to get Ratchet to join his faction in The Affliction. It turned out well, and drama is still taking place in the second season.
In real life, the Road Warriors turning on Sting and Dusty, and when Hogan joined Hall and Nash to form the NWO.

Any heel turn, to be effective, must meet certain criteria: 1. You have to establish that the person who turns is a face or at least has been trusted, but a face works better, for some time. Tag team partners for one week and turn the next, doesn't work as well as Shawn superkicking Marty. 2. You can't flip and flop a guy back and forth too much. I mean, why would anyone trust Lex Luger, he was too much back and forth. 3. Don't turn someone heel just to do it, or else the big turns mean less. plus do it too much and no turn means anything. See WCW near the end.I 4. Shocking is good, but having a reason makes it better. Even if that reason seems a little paranoid or slightly off base, the reason needs to make sense to the characters involved. 5. A no good heel turn should not be merely a hotshot, but establishing a feud that should be an important program. Does it have to be main event? No, but it needs important if you want people to care.
