Year 1 (From The Bionic Elbow) A New Fed on the Block By Scoop Muldoon It's not every day a new "shoot fight" league comes into existence with the pomp and circumstance of the Intergalactic Fight Club. The new fed already has a holovision deal worked out and are starting off with a sixteen man round robin tournament they are calling the Intergalactic Super Grand Prix. The winner of this six night event (two weeks of three nights each) will not only win the tournament but will also be crowned the first IFC Grand Champion. With 13 well known fighters and 3 wild cards, the event looks like it will be an entertaining one. So why not get into the details and my fight predictions. The tournament is set into four color coded blocks of four fighters who face off round robin style. The fighter with the best record advances to the finals block (called the Gold Block) for one more round robin to determine the winner. First up is the Blue Block. It consists of Chojin Olympic gold medalist Vincitor, former Heavyweight boxing champion Rocky the Fighting Squirrel, relative newcomer (and only female competitor) Ratchet, and veteran Honest Abe. Looking at this block, making predictions is easy. Vincitor is going to take this one. Next up we have the Yellow Block consisting of notable street fighting champion Ken Po, his fellow street fighter Krusher Khan, the abrasive and impulsive Death Star, and one of the wild cards The Messenger. Not much is known about this man, but he claims to be a spirit from a higher plane of existence to foil some great evil plot (which he won't elaborate on). Regardless of that I see Ken Po taking this block. The Orange Block is next. It has well known cage fighter and bare knuckles champion Bobcat Jack, the controversial but still popular Tiki Boom, the upstart Party Pirate, and the second wild card, a man of unknown origin calling himself Tick Tock. He claims he knows the truth behind the IFC and he and his partner (more on him later) will be just the beginning. Beginning of what, he won't say. But I can't see anyone but Bobcat Jack winning this block. Last we have the Red Block, made up of former sumo champion and sometime street fighter Yoko-Ohno, the native warrior WarHawk, man of the future Punk A.D., and our last wild card (and Tick Tock's partner in whatever scheme he's trying) a monster of a hare named Rabbid! I have seen this man up close, and fans he is terrifying. I don't know how he does it, but Tick Tock seems to keep him just this side of losing control. I still predict Punk A.D. to take this block though. So that would give us a Gold Block made up of Vincitor, Ken Po, Bobcat Jack, and Punk A.D. In this humble columnist's opinion, the winner I predict for the Intergalactic Super Grand Prix will be... Ken Po! He's got the moves, the drive, and the dedication to see it through. But ultimately it's about winning the fights. Will my predictions come to pass? Who will win the ISGP? Start watching on holovision this weekend to find out!

Blue Block Fight 1 Rocky v. *Honest Abe (Double Leg Takedown) HM: Ooh! Rocky missed with the fast forward! After that the ol' rail splitter caught him off guard and caused an unexpected knock out after a double leg takedown! A surprising win for Abe!
Red Block Fight 1 WarHawk v. *Yoko-Ohno (BANZAI SPLASH) HM: Not a very good showing for WarHawk, but a great showing for Yoko-Ohno! WarHawk just couldn't compete with Yoko's weight advantage!
Orange Block Fight 2 Bobcat Jack v. *Tiki Boom (SUPERMAN PUNCH) HM: What did we just witness! Tiki Boom just hit Bobcat Jack with a carbon copy of his own finishing move! That's got to be demoralizing, but I guess it does show how dangerous that move can be!
Yellow Block Fight 2 *The Messenger (Palm Strike) v. Ken Po HM: Well Ken Po put up a fight, but this mysterious Messenger just had a stronger strike! Just what is his message anyway?!
Blue Block Fight 2 Vincitor v. *Ratchet (WRIST ROCKET) HM: That may be the biggest upset of the night! Ratchet able to KO the former gold medalist! Vincitor is sure to be upset over this one!
Red Block Fight 2 Punk A.D. v. *Rabbid (Thrust Kick) HM: Rabbid just shrugged off Punk A.D.'s fast forward attempt! But Punk has him against the cage! It looks like Rabbid may be injured! But it doesn't matter because he just Thrust Kicked Punk A.D. out of his shoes! This monster is terrifying!

Red Block Fight 1 Punk A.D. v. *Yoko-Ohno (BONZAI SPLASH) HM: Yoko-Ohno is two and oh now in the Red Block, and poor Punk A.D. is mathematically out of Gold Block contention! Yoko-Ohno really knows how to throw his weight around!
Orange Block Fight 1 *Bobcat Jack (SUPERMAN PUNCH) v. Tick Tock HM: Last night we saw an imitation, tonight we see the real thing! Nobody throws a SUPERMAN PUNCH like Bobcat Jack! Things are not looking good for Tick Tock though!
Yellow Block Fight 1 *Ken Po (RYUKEN) v. Death Star HM: Death Star goes for the win early but isn't able to make it! Ken Po nails him with his finisher! Looks like Death Star may be out of this tournament as well!
Blue Block Fight 1 Rocky v. *Vincitor (KINNIKU SPECIAL) HM: Vincitor blocked Rocky's finisher! There is more of the Vincitor we know! He had to be looking to make up for his loss last night and took it out on Rocky!
Red Block Fight 2 WarHawk v. *Rabbid (SPINE SMASHER) HM: HOLY COW! Someone needs to check on WarHawk! That was devastating! This Rabbid really is a wrecking machine!
Orange Block Fight 2 *Party Pirate (PARTY PUNCH) v. Tiki Boom HM: Party Pirate went for a fast forward win but couldn't get it! He still manages to get the victory though! The party rolls on!
Yellow Block Fight 2 *The Messenger (Darth Choke) v. Krusher Khan HM: The Messenger also trying to win this one quick, but no good! Now Krusher Khan seems to be having trouble breathing, but The Messenger is across the cage! How is he being choked?! Krusher Khan taps out!
Blue Block Fight 2 Honest Abe v. *Ratchet (WRIST ROCKET) HM: Abe looks uncomfortable fighting a woman and goes to end it quick! No good! Ratchet on offence! WRIST ROCKET! Honest Abe goes down!

Year 1 (From The Bionic Elbow) One Golden Weekend By Scoop Muldoon Well, when I'm wrong I'm wrong. Goes to show why I went into sports journalism and not fortune telling. Those fights last week ranged from the pitiful (despite Hype MacLeod's selling of it, Vincitor/Honest Abe was bad), the amazing (every match Ratchet had, really), and the grizzly (did anyone ever check on Yoko-Ohno? I don't think a man that big should bend like that). But despite my feelings and predictions we now have our Gold Block for the Intergalactic Super Grand Prix: Ratchet, Party Pirate, The Messenger, and Rabbid. Ratchet is going to have the toughest time. Sure she swept her block, but now she's going to stand across the cage from Rabbid, and I don't think she'll be sweeping this one. She's also probably the weakest fighter of the block, despite her showing in her first one (as good as it was, I still think her win over Vincitor was a fluke). Party Pirate may be playing spoiler here. He had to win two extra fights to get here, which shows his hunger. On top of that I don't think the mystical aura of The Messenger or the monstrous displays of power from Rabbid are going to rattle him much. If he can manage what some would call an upset over either of those men (and he is capable of that) I could see gold in that pirate's future. The Messenger is good. He may have been handed his last win by the ref more than his own prowess, but even so I was impressed watching him fight. He still hasn't said exactly what it is he's here to stop. Maybe we'll find out if he wins. Sadly, I don't think he will. I can't deny it, folks. The horror is real. The monster has risen. Rabbid is no joke. His partner Tick Tock may have gone winless, but Rabbid made up for it with decisive, devastating victories. And I cannot see anyone stopping this freight train of destruction. He will come out with the tournament win and the IFC Grand championship. So there you have it, for what it's worth, my thoughts on and prediction for the Gold Block of the ISGP tournament. An impressive start to this new Intergalactic Fight Club. Let's see if at the end of this weekend I'm as wrong as I was about the first one.

Seeing this takes me back to the early days of the IFC...Ratchet was a shocker in a lot of leagues back then, and I could see here pulling it out here to win. I'm gonna lay my money down on her for the huge upset title win.
