I'm new here. I've played Superstar Pro Wrestling and Champions of the Galaxy, so this seems like something I would enjoy.
Where should I start?
Ideally I'd like to run 3 organizations at once, and I lean towards characters based on real world wrestlers.
Is there a starter set that would give me about 80 or so cards to start with?

Agree with Crimson Cross , great place to start. I recently just purchased 3 more sets and can't wait for them to get here.

Welcome to the boards! I agree with CC. Those sets would be an excellent foundation to start the game. Two more things: 1) you really can't go wrong with any sets you buy 2) Eric keeps the game incredibly affordable, so you get a lot of bang for your buck

Welcome Rodney! I'll echo what everybody else says, and will also reiterate that you really can't go wrong....I've bought most of what go.fight.pow has to offer, and its quite easy to mix and match sets and do your own thing! Have fun!
Also, there are plenty of wrestlers based upon, or who are tributes to, real wrestlers, so you're going to enjoy this game quite a bit! We've got tributes to Flair, Hogan, Sammartino, Bockwinkel, Lawler, Savage, Steve Williams, Terry Gordy, the Rock to name just a few, and there are also just countless good wrestlers to be found.

These guys are all on the money here, as this game is very affordable and does lend itself well to both old school wrestling fans, as well as modern. There are bigger sets like IFC 1, Free Agents 2, Champions of Time, etc... that will give you a bunch to start off with. The great part, is that you can mix and match the cards, as they all work together across the board.
BUT....the main thing is.....have fun and enjoy.
Glad to have you aboard
