The following excerpt is from a recent Blue Jean Overlund podcast where Thunder Gold addressed his surprising loss to Tick Tock in the SCFL's Night of Eliminations 1:
Blue Jean Overlund - "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, thank you for tuning in to the Blue Jean Overlund podcast. Before we get to my next guest, just a reminder that you can get all the latest news and rumors not covered here from the Blue Jean Overlund Hotline. Today's topics include rumors surrounding the whereabouts of Ricky Stallion, what promotion is rumored to be interested in the hottest free agent in Combat sports, Mega Power, and we answer the question if wedding bells are in the air for Butterfly Haley Jean. All that and more for just $14.99 a minute. Kids get your parents' permission before calling. Now, without further ado, I'd like to bring in my guest at this time, Thunder Gold! Thunder Gold, I'm going to get right to it and ask you how you are doing after your disappointing loss to Tick Tock at SCFL Night of Eliminations 1"
Thunder Gold - "Well let me tell you something Blue Jean, the Goldster has been a mess. Losing to that stinky, skinny little weasel Tick Tock has had the Goldster questioning his whole career dude! Then on top of it, the press was running around saying the Goldster has lost it and took a dive. All my little Thunderholics were writing me, asking me to tell them it wasn't so. It was too much for one mortal to take Blue Jean. So I got out my catamaran, and I went to Venice Beach dude, and I started paddling for Thunder Island, and when I got there, I climbed the biggest mountain I could find. When I reached the top, I got down on my knees and prayed for three straight days to the big Goldster in the sky to give me guidance. And at the end of those three days, you know what he said to me Blue Jean?"
Blue Jean Overlund - "I can only imagine Thunder"
Thunder Gold - "He said Goldster, you need to start something on your own and make it the greatest thing ever. And then he sent me a vision, and in this vision I was running a fight club of my own. This fight club started out as six eight-man double elimination tournaments taking place all over the world. When each of these tournaments were finished, the six tournament champions met in a one night gauntlet called the Combat Bowl to crown the ultimate champion!"
Blue Jean Overlund - "Oh my! That sounds like some vision Thunder! Are you going to go through with it?"
Thunder Gold - "That's what I am here to announce today. The formation of the Combat Bowl Fight Club! I've secured the biggest arenas around the world for the six tournaments, dude, and have secured a contract with the FightClubHolonet.hnt streaming service to show all the action so the world, and most importantly the Thunderholics out there, can watch me win the Combat Bowl!"
Blue Jean Overlund - "I must say Thunder Gold, that is outstanding news! Anything else to add?"
Thunder Gold - "I only have one question for those brave enough to sign up for this fight club - WHAT'CHA GONNA DO WHEN THE THUNDER COMES CRASHING DOWN ON YOU!!!"
Blue Jean Overlund - "There you have it folks, straight from the horses' mouth!"

Two major incidents took place at the announcement of locations and competitors for Thunder Gold's Combat Bowl Fight Club, which streamed live on FightClubHolonet.hnt. This was obviously an attempt by the parties involved to make Thunder Gold look foolish, and, in one case, to discredit the league as a whole.
The first incident took place with the announcement of the Los Angeles area tournament participants. When the name Powermonger was announced, he apparently was supposed to do a remote interview with Blue Jean Overlund, who was the MC for this event. Instead, he went into a long, rambling rant about how the Rocket family has all the power in the fight club business, how he wouldn't be caught dead competing in a rinky-dink, fly-by-night operation like Combat Bowl, and how Thunder Gold should have saved himself the embarrassment of all this and went to work for Powermonger when he had the chance. He then told Thunder Gold he needs better lawyers as Powermonger's team inserted a clause into the contract he signed saying Powermonger could designate anyone he wanted to take his place in the tournament. Powermonger exercised those rights and named Monument to fight in his place!
The second incident happened during the announcement of the New Orleans area tournament. In this case Jimmy Stallion was supposed to be interviewed, but when the remote feed came up, Ricky Stallion appeared instead! He said that he was disappointed that Thunder Gold is out to prove that he still has it in the ring but didn't invite the greatest fighter alive to be part of the tournament and accused Thunder Gold of ducking him. He went on to heap some praise on his boy Jimmy but said a young pup like him didn't have the experience for a tournament like this. He then challenged Thunder Gold to prove he wasn't afraid of facing Ricky Stallion and rip up Jimmy's contract and let him take his place instead. Thunder Gold was visibly upset throughout this whole interview and didn't even think about it. Ricky Stallion is now in the tournament! Ricky Stallion also said WOOOOOO!!! a lot throughout the whole interview.
Here are the announced locations and competitors for the double elimination portion of the Combat Bowl. The Combat Bowl itself will take place in Tampa.

Here is an excerpt from the recent Blue Jean Overlund podcast:
Blue Jean Overlund - "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I had the pleasure recently to be part of the wonderful night of action that took place all over the world from Tokyo to New York. Of course, I'm talking about the opening round of the Combat Bowl. Speaking of Tokyo, I'd like to talk about the despicable actions of one Kuromisuto in his match against Dragon Blood. While the referee turned his back to have the bell rung to start the match, Kuromisuto launched a heinous attack on Dragon Blood by blowing the black mist in his face and delivering not one, not two, but three Burning Wizards before finally ending the match with the Tri-Jump Moonsault. It's pretty clear to me that Kuromisuto wasn't out to win a match, but to end a career. Luckily Dragon Blood wasn't seriously injured and should be able to compete in his next match. Surely Kuromisuto-san will have to answer for his actions in the very near future. If you want to hear more about the first round of the Combat Bowl, be sure to call the hotline right now! $14.99 a minute charges apply. Kids, be sure to get your parents' permission before calling."

Here is an excerpt from the recent Blue Jean Overlund podcast:
Blue Jean Overlund - "Ladies and gentlemen, a question for you - what happens when a 7 foot, 500 plus pounder steps into the ring with a former Golden Gloves boxer? Well folks, we got the answer in Round 2 of the Combat Bowl elimination tournament. The match in question took place in Los Angeles, and what a match it was. The giant Monument stepped into the ring against Badd Mann. One would think that Badd Mann would have no chance, but oh my, did he come through with one historic victory! Relying on his quickness and boxing skills, Badd Mann frustrated Monument at every turn, rocking the big man with precision strikes before unloading with his patented Golden Gloves knockout combo! Folks, if you missed this match, or any of the action from Round 2, you owe it to yourself to order the replay on FightClubHolonet.hnt today!"

Note: Unlike a normal double elimination tournament where there would be a winner's and loser's bracket with teams/competitors bouncing back and forth until there is 1 team/competitor left in each bracket, I am doing things based purely on random draw. The caveat is that a competitor cannot take on anyone they faced before until the field has been whittled down to where it is impossible for unique match ups.

Here is an excerpt from the recent Blue Jean Overlund podcast:
Blue Jean Overlund - "What a shocking night of action in the third round of the Combat Bowl double elimination tournament. Folks, in case you missed it, the two fighters who replaced others in this tournament are gone, and one whole bracket has only undefeated combatants left in it! Let's start in Los Angeles, where a couple of huge upsets occurred. First, Johnny Hype got the better of Thunder Gold and handed him his first defeat. I'm sure all the little Thunderholics will be saying their prayers and hoping for Thunder Gold to get back to his dominating ways in his next match. However, the surprise of the night came when Bodybag Burke hit the D.O.A. on the giant Monument and knocked him out of the tournament. No one would have expected Monument to lose two in a row, much less one in the whole tournament! It is safe to say that Powermonger and the rest of the Rocket family are not too happy about their hand-picked monster getting eliminated. No matter how big he is, I hope Monument is watching his back as the Rocket family does not let things like this slide. It is still hard to believe that a nice guy like Harold Ross could be associated with people like the Rocket family.
With that said, let's turn our attention to New Orleans. You'll recall at the press conference announcing the rosters for each region, Thunder Gold was rudely interrupted by Ricky Stallion who interjected himself into the proceedings by taking Jimmy Stallion's place in the tournament. Well folks, the so-called greatest fighter has been eliminated by none other than Kerry Storm! Clearly Mr. Storm took exception to Ricky Stallion calling himself the greatest fighter and dominated the match from the opening bell before applying his patented Category 4 Claw! Hopefully, Ricky Stallion will learn from this, but I somehow doubt it.
Finally, we have a developing situation in the New York region tournament. Believe it or not ladies and gentlemen, the only competitors left standing are those who have yet to take a loss! It looks like a fantastic finish in that region as we head towards finalizing the six final competitors for the Combat Bowl in Tampa!"
Los Angeles Tournament - Round 3
Johnny Hype defeated Thunder Gold by Sweet Defeat Bodybag Burke defeated Monument by D.O.A - Monument is eliminated Badd Mann defeated Danger Graves by Golden Glove - Danger Graves is eliminated
Tokyo Tournament - Round 3
Reign Man defeated Sotoka by Lightning Strike Jay Blade defeated Kuromisuto by DQ when Kuromisuto spit the black mist in Blade's eyes
New York Tournament - Round 3
H.T. Mahoney defeated Bahamas Bull by Go 2 Jail - Bahamas Bull is eliminated Great Scott defeated Brickyard Brown by Hot Rod - Brickyard Brown is eliminated
Chicago Tournament - Round 3
Scorpius defeated Sledge Hammerstein by The Stinger - Sledge Hammerstein is eliminated Warzone defeated The Natural by Lockdown Lariat - The Natural is eliminated Rampage defeated Mega Power by Boulder Bomb
New Orleans Tournament - Round 3
Kerry Storm defeated Ricky Stallion by Category 4 Claw - Ricky Stallion is eliminated J.T. Royal defeated Fuller Nelson by Piledriver - Fuller Nelson is eliminated Harold Ross defeated War Hawk by Boston Crab - War Hawk is eliminated
Toronto Tournament - Round 3
Hank Farmer defeated Chapeltec by Heavy Haymaker - Chapeltec is eliminated Danish Dynamite defeated Grande Reyes by Tivoli Twister (FF) - It is rumored Grande Reyes was under the weather and still hurting from his match against Rip Owens. He seemed out of sorts and actually started the match before the bell and got caught with a quick Tivoli Twister. Grande Reyes is eliminated. Rip Owens defeated U.S. Steel by Rotator Crunch - U.S. Steel is eliminated

Blue Jean Overlund - "The unthinkable has happened in the Combat Bowl double elimination tournament folks! But before I get to that, let me congratulate the four men who have qualified for the Combat Bowl in Tampa. Great Scott, Warzone, Harold Ross and Rip Owens all won their respective regions, with Warzone and Harold Ross doing so in spectacular fashion. With the New York, Chicago, New Orleans and Toronto regions down to four men or less, it turned into a one-night spectacular in those regions to crown a winner. In Chicago, Warzone won three straight matches with his Solitary Slam finisher. Let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, if you missed the action, you did yourself a disfavor and should order the replay immediately just to watch this string of matches! In New Orleans, Harold Ross also won three matches in a row, beating Buck Tomkins and then winning two straight falls against a man who beat him earlier in the tournament, J.T. Royal. J.T. Royal did himself in when he decided to cheat in the first match and use a chain he pulled from his tights! I'm not sure how the referee missed it when he checked the wrestlers for foreign objects. With his security blanket gone, Harold Ross was quick to capitalize in the second match. Hopefully Mr. Royal has learned that cheaters never prosper!
Now, onto the unthinkable. To the dismay and anguish of millions of Thunderholics everywhere, Thunder Gold was eliminated from the Combat Bowl by none other than Badd Mann. That's right, the same person who scored a tremendous upset over Monumnet using his Golden Glove finisher did the same thing to Thunder Gold! Badd Mann opened the match with the move and Thunder Gold was knocked out cold! This raises many questions about Thunder Gold's future as this is the second time he has been unceremoniously dumped from a qulifying match. The first time, of course, was against Tick Tock when he tried to qualify for the SCFL Openweight League. When and where will Thunder Gold pop up after the conclusion of the Combat Bowl only time will tell!"
Los Angeles Tournament - Round 4
Bodybag Burke defeated Headhunter by Shovel Smash (FF) - Bodybag Burke wasn't going to get into a prolonged fight with a second giant and smashed Headhunter with his shovel from behind while Headhunter was walking to the ring, eliminating the big man Badd Mann defeated Thunder Gold by Golden Glove (FF) - Badd Mann scores aniother huge upset, this time knocking Thunder Gold out as soon as the bell rung with his Golden Glove combo and eliminating the favorite to win the Combat Bowl
Tokyo Tournament - Round 4
Sotoka defeated Jay Blade by Super Kick - Jay Blade is eliminated Super Beast defeated Reign Man by Atomic Drop
New York Tournament - Round 4
H.T. Mahoney defeated Superion by Go 2 Jail Superion defeated Great Scott by Tenchi Splash Great Scott defeated H.T.Mahoney by Hot Rod Superion defeated H.T.Mahoney by Tenchi Splash - H.T. Mahoney is eliminated Great Scott defeated Superion by UFO - Superion is eliminated
Chicago Tournament - Round 4
Scorpius defeated Rampage by The Stinger (FF) - Scorpius ran to the ring and immediately hit the monster Rampage with The Stinger Warzone defeated Mega Power by Solitary Slam - Mega Power is eliminated Warzone defeated Scorpius by Solitary Slam - Scorpius is eliminated Warzone defeated Rampage by Solitary Slam - Rampage is eliminated
New Orleans Tournament - Round 4
J.T. Royal defeated Kerry Storm by Piledriver - Kerry Storm is eliminated Harold Ross defeated Buck Tomkins by Hard Lariat - Buck Tomkins is eliminated Harold Ross defeated J.T. Royal in a two out of three falls match 2-0, with the first fall being a DQ when J.T. Royal was caught trying to use a chain he pulled from his tights and the second fall by The Stampede. J.T. Royal is eliminated
Toronto Tournament - Round 4
Rip Owens defeated Hank Farmer by Rotator Crunch Danish Dynamite defeated Hank Farmer by Tivoli Twister - Hank Farmer is eliminated Rip Owens defeated Danish Dynamite by Rotator Crunch - Danish Dynamite is eliminated
NOTE: In the Harold Ross - J.T.Royal match, had J.T. Royal won the first fall he would have advanced due to not having taken any losses up to that point and Harold Ross already losing earlier in the tournament to J.T. Royal

Here is an excerpt from the recent Blue Jean Overlund podcast:
Blue Jean Overlund - "Ladies and gentlemen, the double elimination tournament has concluded and the field is set for the first ever Combat Bowl! It was another exciting night of action in Los Angeles and Tokyo as the final two entrants into the Combat Bowl were named. In Los Angeles, Badd Mann rode his boxing skills into the Combat Bowl, while in Tokyo Super Beast won two matches in a row, taking advantage of a semi-blinded Reign Man to make it to the Combat Bowl. Remember folks, the Combat Bowl takes place in Tampa and is a random draw gauntlet match. The people entered are Badd Mann, Super Beast, Great Scott, Warzone, Rip Owens and Harold Ross. Which one of these men will make it through the gauntlet and be crowned Combat Bowl champion?"
Los Angeles Tournament - Round 5

Here is an excerpt from the recent Blue Jean Overlund podcast:
Blue Jean Overlund - "As you know, the Combat Bowl took place in Tampa and what a fitting end to a great gauntlet match! The man known as Warzone entered the gauntlet at number four and survived three men to win! With a name like Warzone, how could anyone question that this man was born for something like the Combat Bowl. From beginning to end, from the double elimination tournament to the final gauntlet, it has been non-stop excitement and Thunder Gold should be proud of what he created.
With that said, I know a lot of you have been sending in emails asking if the rumors surrounding the Combat Bowl and its future are true. I can confirm that, unfortunately, they are. Thunder Gold has sold the rights to the Combat Bowl to a man that, at least publicly, goes by the moniker The Grand Avatar. No one has ever seen this man, and details of the transaction are being kept secret. What we do know is that representatives of this mysterious man have said that there are no plans at this time to run another Combat Bowl in the near future, and if it returns, there will be some changes made. Folks, to me, this doesn't bode well. Will there ever be another Combat Bowl? What changes might be made if there is one? Call the hotline to get my full thoughts on this matter. The hotline is $14.99 a minute. Kids, remember to get your parents' permission before calling."
