As I was learning to play the game, I stumbled upon a system to book matches- I took a stack of cards with guys I wanted to play with and ordered them semi-randomly based on a subjective "best to worst". Then I would "cut the deck" like you would in poker, and proceed to take the bottom card from the first stack and the top card from the second stack and match them up, winner went back in the stack where I found it, and the loser went to the bottom. After doing this a couple more times I'd finish my round of playing by having the top two cards in my "deck" face off for who would remain at the top, with the loser going all the way to the back. As I was thinking of how I wanted to run a more long term project, this seemed like an interesting wrinkle. And so an fed is born...
Background: Doc Wyatt, a former World Champion on Earth, had been looking for a new investment opportunity before being presented with tapes of the IFC. Enamored, he began getting in contact with fighters from every sector- forming a roster he deemed worth of a new fight league that would create a ranking ladder, and force fighters to face off to either climb up or fall off. He decided to call this league the Top of the Deck Fight Club.
Rules:
1. 32 fighters will compete in a single elimination tournament, with seeding being determined by Commissioner Doc Wyatt. Results of the tournament will determine a fighters initial "ranking." The winner of the tournament will be crowned the "Top Deck" Champion.
2. Cards will consist of 5 matches. 2 matches will be drawn from the middle ranks, 1 match will be from the bottom two fighters, 1 match will be the 3rd and 4th ranked fighters to determine the next challenger. The Main Event of each card will be the two top fighters, with the Top Deck Championship the prize for the winner. 3. Winners move up a spot in the rankings, losers drop to the bottom. The "Bottom Deck" match will kick off every card, with the loser dropping out of the roster all together and a new fighter getting signed for the next card. 4. At the end of every card, the Bottom Deck loser will be given his walking papers, and a random lottery will be held from the nights losers to determine who will face the new fighter in the Bottom Deck match on the next card.
5. Commissioner Wyatt reserves the right to declare rematches for any reason, which will "freeze" both fighters in the rankings until the next card. 6. Rules can be disregarded, changed, or added in the name of fun.
SINGLES Roster Ranking (as of Card #26): 1. Bobcat Jack T-2. Billion Dollar Brawler T-2. Tiki Boom 4. Southpaw McGraw 5. Jack Grappler 6. Star Blazer 7. JT Royal 8. Varsity 9. Great Scott 10. Americus 11. Cosmos King 12. Kerry Storm 13. Ricky Stallion 14. Scrapyard Dog 15. Glen Hackson 16. Big Thunder 17. Stanley Strong 18. Rampage w/ Prof. Kurushimi 19. Rey Mascaras 20. Shane Stud 21. Rip Owens 22. Senator Ichiban 23. War Hawk 24. Dante Giordano 25. Mr Grappling 26. Hot Flash Cash 27. Tim Rocket Jr 28. Thunder Recks 29. Dusty Plummer 30. Superion 31. Rick Raven 32. Lex Lightyear/Steve Stampede

How did you come up with your rankings? I ran a few "test" tournaments to get a rough familiarity over which cards were stronger than others. After that, it was largely just based on personal preference with who the card seemed to be based off of and which cards I just thought were cool haha. Some wild action here. I love seeing the upsets, it makes things seem more interesting. It will be fun to see where it goes from here. Thank you for sharing. Thanks for checking it out! I have a feeling we're in for a few more upsets when we get to the official tournament...

Tournament Results Round 1:
Chris De Flames defeats War Hawk via SNAP SHOT Mega Power defeats Bubba James via ATOMIC ELBOW Bobcat Jack defeats Sundog Spot via Superman Punch Varsity defeats Powermonger via reversing DREAM STREET into P.C.D. Senator Ichiban defeats Rich Raven via OCTOPUS HOLD Soda City Slugger defeats Stanley Strong via SAY HEY Chapeltec defeats Jack Grappler via Giant Boot Rey Mascaras defeats Southpaw McGraw via Air Mascaras Star Blazer defeats Kerry Storm via Falling Star Bomb Rykezilla defeats Mr. Excellent via HALO HAMMER Shane Stud defeats Billion Dollar Brawler via BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX Great Scott defeats Freddie Mercurio via HOT ROD Scrapyard Dog defeats Tiki Boom via THE HEAP Mr. Grappling defeats Dirty Don Nathan via DQ from the Loaded Elbow Pad Super Beast defeats Bahama Bull via rollup (FF) Americus defeats Fuller Nelson via AMERICUS TOE HOLD
Recap: Some major upsets highlighted the first round, with none other than top seeded War Hawk getting toppled by Chris De Flames. Other surprises were early exits for Stanley Strong, Jack Grappler, and Mr Excellent which left the field wide open now. Commissioner Doc Wyatt, always known as a fan of chaos in his fighting days, was seen visibly laughing when fan favorite War Hawk was defeated (though sources say he privately fumed over the price he paid to bring in the legend, only to have him quickly exit).
Round 2 will take place in the next couple days, so update those predictions!

Tournament Results Round 2:
Americus defeats Chris De Flames via AMERICUS TOE HOLD Super Beast defeats Mega Power via CJOUJYU KNEE DROP Bobcat Jack defeats Mr Grappling via RAGING BRUTALITY Varsity defeats Scrapyard Dog via reversing THE HEAP into P.C.D. Great Scott defeats Senator Ichiban via HOT ROD Shane Stud defeats Soda City Slugger via Fisherman Buster Rykezilla defeats Chapeltec via HALO HAMMER Starblazer defeats Rey Mascaras via STAR FIRE CRASH Recap: The Cinderella run of Chris De Flames was put to an end by Americus, but Star Blazer continues to make a name for himself with another impressive win. Meanwhile on the other side, Rykezilla's wins were so improbable the TDFC staff hasnt even taken the time to correct the spelling on his name in the bracket. We're a round away from figuring out the Final Four- and its anyone's tournament to win at this point...
Round 3 will take place soon...

Tournament Results Quarterfinals:
Americus defeats Star Blazer via AMERICUS TOE HOLD Rykezilla defeats Super Beast via DQ when Super Beast choked Rykezilla out with the chain Bobcat Jack defeats Shane Stud via RAGING BRUTALITY Varsity defeats Great Scott via P.C.D. Recap: The Final Four are set, with Americus finally ending Star Blazer's impressive run, while Varsity put down Great Scott in a tense back and forth match (that somehow involved a lot of bubble gum). On the other side, controversy ruled the day. While Bobcat Jack continued is dominant run by stomping out Shane Stud, the last semi-finalist advanced with a bit of an asterisk. Super Beast had been clearly winning the match but got over aggressive, using his chain to choke Rykezilla- despite multiple warnings to stop, the official had no choice but to DQ the Fire Island native. The stage is set to determine who will main event the TDFC's first card, and become the TOP DECK CHAMPION!
Semi-Finals will take place later today...
