IFC 2: Battle-Hardened, WAHOO! Arena
Heritage Heavyweight Championship (2 out of 3 falls)
In a shocking turn of events, Party Pirate defeated Ricky Stallion in two straight falls to capture the Heritage Heavyweight Championship! The first fall could have gone either way, where Party Pirate sustained an injury and Ricky Stallion got a cut that would not stop bleeding. After a long battle, the Party Punch ended the fall. The second fall was much quicker, with Party Pirate hitting the Party Punch very early and Stallion too exhausted to recover.
“Hype MacLeod here and what a match! I have never seen Stallion so...so out-matched! Congrats to the Celebrating Swashbuckler for a fantastic win! Word is that now he is a champion, he no longer bears the Cursed status! In fact, as long as he holds that belt he will remain protected! Not sure what that means for Stallion…”
Cleansing of the Cursed
“We’ll keep the action going. Up next fans, boy o’ boy do we have a doozy here! This is what the Commissioner is calling the ‘Cleansing of the Cursed,’ and fans let me tell you...it promises to be a tough nut to crack. Each of the cursed fighters will fight TWO other fighters in a handicap match! If a cursed fighter wins, well...the Commissioner promises a distinct advantage come time for the Culling! Can one of these three pull an upset? Let’s go to the cage and find out!”
Krusher Khan held his own for quite a while, even getting in some good offense. In the end, Sam Dunk and Atlas Stone overpowered him with a brutal double-team move.
TKO and Cristoforo didn’t give Ratchet a chance, pummelling her from the start. Both TKO and Cristoforo showed no mercy, which resulted in a quick defeat for the usually feisty Ratchet.
Tick Tock fought hard against La Cerdita and Soda City Slugger. After the match had gone on for a bit, Tick Tock stopped and just began laughing at the two other fighters. La Cerdita hit WHEN PIGS FLY to end the match.
Other IFC Fights
Tiki Boom manhandled Ken Po, easily putting him down with repeated BOOM-SHAKA-LAKAs.
Showstopper dominated Death Star, ending the bout with a SHOW'S OVER.
Yoko-Ohno quickly dispatched Rocky, squashing the squirrel with the BONZAI SPLASH.
Messenger was relentless in his offense, quickly dispatching Warhawk with LAST RITES. It’s almost as if Messenger is expecting another fight…
In what may become a classic, Punk A.D. and Honest Abe fought a long contest that saw the upper-hand change many times. Punk A.D. gained the victory after a Steampunk Snare.
Vincitor put Valentino Massacre down with a Kinniku Special. Valentino was injured during the bout, but refused medical attention and forced the ref to allow the fight to continue.
INTERGALACTIC GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP (2 out of 3 falls)
Bobcat Jack dispatched Rabbid in two straight falls, embarrassing the mecha-bunny with repeated Superman Punches. Enraged, Tick Tock charged into the cage only to be shoved aside by Bobcat. Tick Tock pulled his mystery device from under his coat…”If I can’t have the championship, I’LL DESTROY THE ENTIRE FEDERATION!” Before anyone could stop the lunatic, he pressed the flashing button….

...blue and purple electricity crackled through the air of the Nil Zone Box Office, swirling around the top of the cage. Bobcat sent the ref to get help and then stood in the cage, focused on Tick Tock and the recovering rabbit. Tick Tock was admiring the building storm, giggling like a child at their own birthday party. Rabbid had recovered and was standing behind Tick Tock; Tick Tock stood, smiled, and said “Surprise!” At that word, an explosion pushed Bobcat out of the cage door to the floor.
All of the electricity had centered in the middle of the ring, forming what appeared to be a portal. Suddenly, three beings stepped through. The first was a slight man with red disheveled hair and a large, creepy smile. The next was a rough-looking woman who sneered with discontent at the crowd and made obscene gestures toward everyone. The final being was preceded by the stench of death, and when it stepped through, it made even Rabbid look small. All three turned and faced Tick Tock. The lunatic smiled and pointed at Bobcat. Almost as one, the three newcomers and Rabbid rushed toward the champ.
Despite the overwhelming odds and his exhaustion from his match with Rabbid, Bobcat tried to stand and fight. The four menaces had pummeled the champ to the ground when Messenger and two other men came storming from the back. Although the three sentinels evened the odds, it appeared the newcomers were getting the edge. In the midst of the violence, everyone froze momentarily as a wave of confusion rushed over the combatants.
The commissioner Maleve walked calmly down the aisle, focused intently on Tick Tock. Messenger and friends had retrieved a bloody, yet enraged, Bobcat while the four minions of Tick Tock retreated back to the door of the cage. Tick Tock walked out, joining his army and coming face to face with Maleve.
“Your tricky-tricks won’t work on me, my pretty,” Tick Tock said with a laugh.
Maleve no-sold the comment. “I am not your pretty,” Maleve said firmly. “What is the meaning of this...intrusion?”
“Why, my pretty,” Tick Tock said with a defiant smirk, “I want that!” Tick Tock pointed at the championship held by Bobcat. “But YOU!” he continued, getting in Maleve’s face, “YOU made it impossible for me...so I will take it ALL from you!” His laughter bubbled up and became contagious among his four minions. Maleve was stone-faced.
“You want all of this?” she said. “I fought to build the IFC, and I will fight to keep it.”
Tick Tock giggled. “You mean one of your treasured man-fighters,” he said eyeing the four fighters surrounding Maleve. “I knew you wouldn’t…”
“No. I said I will fight to keep it, and I mean it,” Maleve said, to which Bobcat raised an eyebrow and Messenger slowly turned to look at the commissioner.
“Well, well...my pretty. Then let’s settle it at…”
Maleve cut off the lunatic, “I AM NOT YOUR PRETTY!” she said with a snarl that made Tick Tock pause. “We will settle it at the Culling. And ‘we’ means your entire crew of miscreants. You and your team, against me and my team...in a Lost Sector Banishment Battle.”
“Until then,” Maleve said, “keep your hounds on a tight leash. Any trouble they cause will void our agreement and you will get nothing.” Tick Tock nodded slowly, salivating. Maleve turned and left, with Bobcat Jack, Messenger, and the two other sentinels standing between her and the motley crew. Once she was in back, the four men walked backwards up the stage.

Maleve was in her office with Bobcat, Messenger, and the two other men. She had already accepted Messenger, Connor, and Alexander as members of her team, but denied Bobcat’s request. The discussion was already heated when Maleve slammed her fist on the desk, splitting the top with a loud crack.
“That championship you hold is the reason. You represent the IFC as it is, and as it should be. I will not risk having you, and subsequently the Grand Championship, banished. That will play directly into that idiot’s plan...out of the question.”
Bobcat was about to protest when he was cut-off by Messenger. “Your honor will not be tarnished, nor your courage doubted. Should this battle go very badly…” Messenger paused, “We need you to lead the defense here, and to get us back.”
Bobcat nodded his head, but then paused. “What do you mean ‘get us back’?” Maleve shuddered.
“This banishment is not league-instituted,” Maleve said. “It is more...permanent. Every fighter that loses in the upcoming battle will be instantly transported to the Forbidden Sector. The uniqueness of that sector is that it’s a one-way trip. Outside of Tick Tock’s device, there is no known way out.”
The gravity of the situation hit Bobcat like a tidal wave. He now understand what was at stake. Not only could the founder of the IFC be banished, but three Sentinels...then who would protect the vectors. “So who will your fourth be, ma’am?” Bobcat asked, genuinely curious.
“That’d be me, matey,” said Party Pirate as he entered the room with the Heritage Championship on his shoulder. Maleve looked up, but before she could speak, Party Pirate cut her off. “What have I got to lose? This championship is the only thing keeping me from getting kicked out the league, what with this whole ‘cursed’ shenanigans you got here. If we win and I survive, though, I want something in return.”
Maleve raised an eyebrow. “You know that is highly unlikely...your survival, right?”
“Aye, that I do...which is why, when I do survive," Party Pirate winked, "I want you to get rid of this whole status crap,” Party Pirate said. “I got no issues with bottom ranked fighters having to move on after a year, but to make them fight day in and day out for meager little advantages? And because of only one bout? Naw, matey...let everyone have to prove their own worth without anchoring them with a label. You may be surprised what happens,” he finished as he held up the Heritage Championship.
Maleve thought about it. “Deal,” she said. She knew her benefactors would not care for the deal, but she didn’t care. The heart and endurance that Party Pirate demonstrated throughout the year was unmatched...to go from Cursed to champion, that said a lot about his character. If there was anyone she needed on this team, it was him.
“Now, go prepare yourselves. Bobcat, you’ll need to be ready for the winner of the Redemption tournament. Business can’t stop because some lunatic wants to take over.” The five men stood tall in her office, each admiring the tenacity and courage of their commissioner. Maleve looked up at them, exhaled and said, “I mean it...get out. I’ve got work to do.” The five men left, with only Party Pirate letting the laughter escape and giving Maleve a jovial salute. When they were gone, Maleve smiled.
