Cool to see your posting again... I had a lot of personal life stuff that got in the way last year sadly. I have 6-8 shows that I never posted here that I was going to slowly work my way through. Then I'm going to finally get my GLITTER promotion started and go full steam ahead with the IFC.

The Bionic Elbow #6: 3/1/2126
What a crazy couple of months it's been. We have a no. 1 contender for the IFC Grand Championship and it's Honest Abe. That's right Abe defeated Krusher Khan and Tiki Boom to earn a shot at the championship. Bobcat Jack and Honest Abe will square off at IFC 6 for the Grand Championship. If you remember, Bobcat and Abe tangled at IFC 1 with Jack coming out on top. That was a little over a year ago and you can see the improvements that Abe has made in that time period. I think this is an interesting fight on paper. You have Abe who is primarily a wrestler but he has a surprisingly solid striking game to complement the wrestling. Jack on the other hand is a brawler who possesses a good submission and takedown defense. Out of all the guys we've seen in the IFC so far, I would say these two are the most well rounded. If I had to make a pick for this fight I would say that Bobcat Jack retains the championship. Abe is on a nice run and he's a really good fighter but Jack is just on a level above everyone else right now.
The IFC has gone on a bit of a signing spree the last couple of months. El Pikador made his debut at IFC 4 and was defeated by Punk A.D. What I'm hearing is the IFC has made a number of signings that will be debuting over the next several shows. The next Gym Wars show will feature a number of debuts.
The upcoming Gym Wars card is looking like this:
Connor vs. Tick Tock (1-4)
Connor is making his IFC debut here. Tick Tock has been just downright bad since joining the IFC. I would say Connor wins his first match in the IFC here.
Squatch vs. Rocky (1-2)
Squatch has a lot of hype coming into this fight. He's said to be one of the best free agent fighters on the market. Rocky has had some flashes of brilliance through his first 3 fights but he is one dimensional. Rocky struggles when things go to the ground and Squatch is going to be a bad match up for someone that needs space and can't defend submissions or grappling. I'm going to pick Squatch here.
Comet vs. Ken Po (1-2)
Comet is a member of Saint Nick's crew. I sound like a broken record here but I'm going to take the newcomer again. Ken Po has really struggled to find his fight game in the IFC. Comet is an athletic fighter and I think he just has the advantage here.
El Pikador (0-1) vs. Yoko-Ohno (2-3)
This is a tough one to pick for me. I bash on Ohno a lot but he is a big guy and those slams are deadly. Pikador had a less than stellar debut at the last show. This fight is a must win for Pikador as starting 0-2 is just too big of a hole to dig out of in the IFC. I'm taking El Pikador here.
Death Star (3-3) vs. Party Pirate (2-3)
This is a big match for both guys. A win for Death Star will push him into the top 10 rankings most likely and some title shot considerations. Party Pirate needs this match to stay relevant in the IFC. A win means he's 3-3 and can start pushing into the rankings and title talk while a loss puts him at 2-4 and a floundering career in the IFC. We've seen a good bit of both men and Death Star is just too up and down of a fighter for me. Party Pirate has faced all of the top guys in the IFC and he's made a pretty good showing for himself so far. I like the Party Pirate's chances in this one.
That's it for this issue. Next issue will be a preview for IFC 6 and the big Bobcat Jack vs. Honest Abe title fight.

Just so you know how this thread is going to develop. Glitter is going to get posted in here eventually. Right now I've run 10 IFC shows and 5 Gym Wars shows. I'm just getting ready to start bringing in the Free Agent guys. Events going forward will rotate IFC PPVs and Gym Wars shows. When I start struggling to get guys onto cards I will add a third type of show for the IFC which will probably just be a Fight Night type of TV show.

IFC Gym Wars 2: 3/26/2126
Connor (1-0) KOs Tick Tock (1-5) with the Kill Stroke
Hype McLeod catches Connor as he leaves the octagon.
McLeod: A newcomer to the IFC. Connor, can you tell us about the Sentinel group that you are a part of? Connor: We are an elite camp of MMA fighters. We're coming to the IFC and we have a single combined goal and that's to win the Grand Championship for our group. You'll see my teammate Comet later on tonight. McLeod: Will members of the Sentinels be fighting each other in the IFC? Connor: Only if there's gold on the line. Our plan is to dominate the rankings and make sure the belt stays within our group. Now if you'll excuse me I have post match pressers I have to go to.
Squatch (1-0) submits Rocky (1-3) with the Monster Bear Hug
Hype McLeod catches the just defeated Rocky as he leaves the octagon.
McLeod: A tough loss for one of my personal favorites in the IFC. Rocky: You know, it happens. I knew I was coming into a tough situation. These guys can fight on the ground and stuff and here I am just a lug that can hit hard. McLeod: Is your camp working with you on your ground game? Rocky: They're helping me not get taken down but I'm honestly pretty hopeless trying submissions and things like that. I'm just going to try and stay on my feet and punch my way to victory. I think things will turn around eventually. McLeod: Well good luck to you. I hope to see success in your future.
Ken Po (2-2) KOs Comet (0-1) with the Ryuken
Yoko-Ohno (3-3) KOs El Pikador (0-2) with the Bonzai Splash
Hype McLeod catches Yoko-Ohno as he leaves the octagon.
McLeod: Impressive victory for the big man tonight. How are you feeling about your early success in the IFC? Ohno: Piece of cake. I'm the biggest guy out there most fights and I'm taking advantage of it as much as possible. McLeod: With this win, you're going to be pretty high in the standings. Will you be angling for some kind of contenders match soon? Ohno: I certainly will be. I want a shot at whoever wins that belt.
Party Pirate (3-3) KOs Death Star (3-4) with the Party Punch

IFC 6 Press Day:
Honest Abe and IFC Grand Champion Bobcat Jack have sat down for interviews from the press.
McLeod: Abe, how do you plan to bring down a fighter that has yet to lose in the IFC? We've seen his stamina during the tournaments at the older IFCs.
Abe: I've been training hard for this fight. Harder than I've trained for anything in my life. Vincitor has been pushing me hard on the ground and Rocky has been working with me on my striking. I may not be as good of a striker as Jack is but I can hold my own and I think I win the battle on the ground. I'm going to give the man his props, he's eaten the competition alive in this promotion so far.
McLeod: Jack, do you think it's harder to face an opponent a second time?
Jack: Sure, they've seen what you can do so there are fewer surprises. But that also goes both ways and he won't have as many surprises for me. All I know is I beat him the first time and I'm going to beat him again.
McLeod: This question is to both of you? What's it like to be the headline act for probably the biggest IFC show to date?
Abe: It's quite an honor. I'm planning to make history at this show and win the Grand Championship.
Jack: That main event payday is going to buy me a lot of beer and cigars. Plus, the ladies love a man with championship gold.

The Bionic Elbow #7: 5/10/2126
The IFC Gym Wars 2 is in the books. I think the notable takeaway from this show were the debuts of Squatch, Connor and Comet. Connor and Squatch pulled off impressive victories while Comet didn't far so well. It's nice to see the IFC expanding their pool of talent. More fighters means more shows and more unique match ups. From what I've been told, there are going to be several more fighters debuting over the next few shows.
Also on this show, Yoko-Ohno picked up a victory over El Pikador. A rough start for the IFC career of El Pikador as he's currently 0-2. But the story here is Yoko-Ohno's fight record stands at 3-3. Currently that's good enough to get into title contention. I've heard a rumor that Yoko-Ohno will be taking on the winner of the Vincitor vs. Party Pirate fight at the IFC 6 show. I've been hard on Yoko-Ohno in previous issues but the guy is doing what he needs to get into title contention. With his size he's going to be tough for anyone.
A small news note but I've heard rumors that a promotion called Glitter has been formed. This is a women's MMA promotion. I will keep you updated as the promotion gets ready to open.
The next IFC show is IFC 6 and we've got a huge main event as Bobcat Jack puts the IFC Grand Championship on the line against Honest Abe. This fight has been the talk of the MMA world for months now. These two have fought before but people are intrigued by the fact that Honest Abe has won several fights in a row and by his claims that he has improved greatly since the first fight with Jack. So let's breakdown this card:
Squatch (1-0) vs. Punk A.D. (1-5)
Squatch looked good in his debut fight while Punk A.D. has been pretty lackluster so far in the IFC. I think this is a no brainer win for Squatch.
Rabbid (2-2) vs. Alexander
Alexander is making his IFC debut here and he has a tough opponent in the form of Rabbid. I don't know a lot about Alexander. I've heard he is a young fighter with a lot of potential. He also comes from that Sentinel crew that Comet and Connor are from. I think for a first fight draw this is really tough. Rabbid is one of the best fighters in the IFC. I'm going to take the surefire bet and pick Rabbid here.
Ken Po (2-2) vs. Rocky (1-3)
Rocky has really struggled with the three dimensional nature of MMA. When you get him in the clinch or get him on the ground he's almost helpless. I think the guy should have trained for another six months to a year before trying his hand here. The guy is a dangerous striker and you always have to take that into consideration. Ken Po on the other hand is a well rounded and tough fighter. He can strike and he can grapple. I'm going to pick the more complete fighter in Ken Po.
The Messenger (3-2) vs. Krusher Khan (4-3)
Wow, this is a tough match to pick. Both guys are very well regarded fighters and they've both had their ups and downs in the IFC. This is also a key match for both men. The winner of this match will find themselves in the thick of the title hunt. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the winner of this match finds their way into a title match soon. My gut is telling me Krusher Khan wins here. When you think about the best fighter in the IFC, you still think of Krusher Khan even if he has struggled a little.
Vincitor (2-3) vs. Party Pirate (3-3)
You know, I'm just not a fan of Party Pirate. The guy has had some success in the IFC but I don't know, he just seems lacking. He feels like that guy that's going to beat the bad fighters and lose to the good fighters. Vincitor on the other hand is an elite level wrestler. With this kind of match I think you take the guy that's elite in one area. So I'm going to pick Vincitor to win this one.
Tiki Boom (2-2) vs. El Pikador (0-2)
Let's talk about guys that look like they haven't belonged in the IFC so far. El Pikador tries hard out there but he's just not on the level of his opponents. I think this is a no brainer win for Tiki Boom.
Bobcat Jack (9-0) vs. Honest Abe (4-1) - IFC Grand Championship
The match that has the entire MMA world talking. Both of these men have been impressive since the IFC started. Both men are fairly well rounded as fighters and I think match up pretty well. There are two things to keep in mind with this match. 1. Bobcat Jack has already beaten Abe previously and 2. Bobcat Jack has looked unbeatable in the IFC and I think you can't pick against the guy right now. I think Jack continues his reign of carnage here.
Overall, a really strong card for the IFC. This one is a must see if you ask me.
Until next time...

The Messenger is 11-13. He had fallen down the card on a losing streak before going 4-1 and being a fringe contender again.
