I'm not much on picks, but I'd say Sam Dunk vs. Rampage in the final...

BRUTAL Fighting League 24
The semifinals have been set in the tournament to crown the Number One Contender for the BRUTAL Championship! And they will get started tonight with a clash between Disturbed Youth and Rampage!
1. Neutron (w/ Proton) vs El Halcon -- After El Halcon made his entrance, Neutron and Proton, collectively known as The Galactics, made their way to ringside, with Neutron getting on the microphone. "Ladies, and gentlemen, I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and my partner here. My name is Neutron, and this man right here, haha, his name is Proton, and we, we are The Galactics! And we are here in BRUTAL for one reason -- not to compete -- but to DOMINATE at the highest level in this business! And, ladies and gentlemen, in the coming weeks you are going to see why, 'cuz right now I am going to lay it down -- any tag teams back there in the back, consider yourselves on notice, because The Galactic Ones are here!"
The match opens fast, as expected with El Halcon, but Neutron was just about as quick despite the size difference in the two men. With Proton supporting him from the outside, Neutron established control and seemed to be well on his way to securing the victory when The Spine Busters hit ringside at a dead sprint! Olympia clobbered Proton from behind, and both he and Outlaw laid the boots to the prone Proton! Neutron would not stand for this, and immediately came to his partner's aid! The BRUTAL official laid the count on as the four men brawled outside, counting Neutron out and awarding the match to El Halcon! Security got an early start to their night as the two Duos had to be pulled apart and separated! Looks like it did not take long for Neutron's boastful challenge to rile up the competition!
After order is restored, a page dashes to the ring to a chorus of boos. He seems better prepared than in weeks past, as the notice he is going to read is already out of the envelope. The page doesn't pause for the jeers as he announces, "The BRUTAL Board of Governors hereby announces that if Crimson Cross or Disturbed Youth interfere in each other's matches tonight, both men will be fined, and suspended for 30 days, as well as face possible further sanctions!" As quickly as he came down, the page is gone, eager to escape the vitriol of the crowd!
2. Buck Tomkins vs Crimson Cross -- True to form, the next match featured Crimson Cross, fresh off his loss to Rampage in the first round of the tournament last week. Cross looked angrier than usual, glaring at the corners of the arena with rage smoldering in his eyes, a hint of madness creeping in. His opponent, Buck Tomkins, lost to Disturbed Youth in the first round, so both men entered with something of a chip on their shoulder.
Immediately at the sound of the bell, Crimson Cross was like an uncaged animal, attacking Tomkins with fists and feet. It was clear that both the violent beating he took from Rampage and the verbal assault afterwards by Youth had struck a match under the powderkeg in Cross's heart. The fury of his attack began to mirror the ferocity of Rampage's attack last week, and Cross got the win after a thunderous Red Planet Slam. Afterwards, there was no indication of any difference in Cross's temperament, as the hatred was still evident on his face. Have the actions of Rampage and Youth created a new Crimson Cross?
Backstage, we got a quick word with Sam Dunk, who will face Yoko Ohno next week in the other semifinal bout. "I told ya', I've brought my talents here because BRUTAL is the promotion everybody is talking about. I took care of the Nightmare, and next week, I'm gonna take care of Yoko the same way. Big man's gonna get himself crossed up, get his ankles broke, and be on his back for the 1, 2, 3 -- and you can take that to the bank."
3. Semi-Final: Rampage vs Disturbed Youth -- The first match of the semifinals is one which could have headlined a Showdown, such is the quality of talent in BRUTAL, but it's right here on BRUTAL Fighting League on the BRUTAL Fighting League Network. The crowd was solidly behind Youth, and while Rampage normally has some support just due to how much the crowd appreciates him, he was clearly not their favorite tonight.
That energy carried right into the match, as the two Brutalists tore into each other back and forth. Youth relied on his technique, striking and grappling the bigger man, but Rampage's size and strength were the perfect counter, as Youth was forced to get inside of the Mammoth's reach to be effective. Whenever Rampage would start to build a head of steam, Youth would powder out of the ring and regroup, making Rampage wait, frustrating him.
As the match wore on, it seemed like Rampage might be slowing slightly, as Youth was forcing him to exert energy, forcing the bigger man to suck in more oxygen. But a meaty right from Rampage showed that he was not near defeat yet! That shot dazed Youth, and Rampage got the Disturbed One into a corner, and unloaded on him much like he did with to Crimson Cross last week! Youth was unable to get separation, and tried in vain to fight his way out, striking Rampage repeatedly in the legs and thighs with knees and short kicks. Finally a sharp vertical elbow knocked Youth to a seated position, followed by Rampage rolling him out closer to the center of the ring! Defying logic, Rampage was on the top rope like a cat, and absolutely flattened Youth with a moonsault! The official's hand fell once, twice... no! Two count only!
Rampage, clearly furious, grabbed Youth by the head like he was palming a basketball, then looked out at the crowd, reveling in their loathing. He then placed Youth's head between his legs, and jacked him up for the Boulder Bomb in the center of the ring, the air seeming to go out of the arena as he did so. It was academic from there, with Youth pinned and Rampage's hand raised. Rampage's disgust with his opponent was evident, as simply pushed Youth with his foot until Youth rolled under the bottom rope to the floor. The broadcast ended with Rampage up in the corner screaming at the crowd in defiance as they showered him with hate.
NEXT WEEK: The semifinals continue as Sam Dunk faces Yoko Ohno, with the winner to advance to the finals against Rampage! The Spine Busters and the Galactics will see action, and Ultra Sanda will walk the path of justice!

As much as Youth and Cross is clearly the feud that knows no bounds, Youth vs. Rampage is starting to grow. They battled their hearts out here and the have been in some real wars for the BSW Heavyweight title as well. Plus with The Galactics showing up here, you knew the Spinebusters were not having it. Great stuff.

BRUTAL Fighting League 25
We already have one finalist in the Number One Contender tournament in the form of Rampage! Tonight we will learn who he will face in the finals, as the other two semifinalists clash! It's the newcomer Sam Dunk vs the Japanese Super-Giant Yoko Ohno!
1. Ultra Sanda vs Olympia -- The Spine Busters have made no secret of their intention to break necks and cash checks here in BRUTAL, but Ultra Sanda's quest for justice means that he was bound to cross their paths! The classic matchup of striker vs grappler, this match saw Sanda flying around the ring to score hits, but then Olympia slowing down the pace and grouding his opponent. Sanda took full advantage, nailing Olympia with an Ultra Buster, but the bigger man was not finished yet! Then the match looked over when Sanda hit the ropes for an attack, but was caught and then slammed down with a Spine Tapper! But it was a 2 count only as Sanda just snaked his shoulder up! With Olympia in charge, Neutron of the Galactics made his way to ringside, waving and generally being a nuisance to Olympia! This distraction gave Sanda the opening he needed to nail a Running Shotei and pick up the win! Afterwards, Neutron got in the ring to celebrate as Olympia headed to the back, but Sanda simply held his hands up in a conciliatory gesture and left, walking his own path once again.
Neutron then got on the house microphone, and addresses the audience, "Ladies and gentlemen, last week the Spine Busters stole a victory from me, so, being the right upstandin' and respectable man that I am, I fig'gred I'd return the favor! And just to make sure we don't have any, haha, funny business, I am think that I am going to stay put right there outside the ring while my man Proton has his match! Cmon down here, Proton!"
True to his word, as his partner Proton made his way to the ring, Neutron stayed in his corner. Probably just as well, as Proton's opponent was introduced as Chomper, with the massive Croak as his second!
2. Proton w/Neutron vs Chomper w/ Croak -- Proton can mix it up in many ways, but Chomper is literally a wild beast, so this match was all over the place! The official ended up pulling Chomper off of Proton while choking or biting the Galactic! All of his seething rage and fury did not help Chomper where it counted, as Proton got the win with the Fantastic Voyager! As the Galactics headed out, Croak simply turned his back on Chomper and walked away, with the clearly hurting Chomper following close behind.
3. Semi-Final: Sam Dunk vs Yoko Ohno w/ Douglas R. Grodon -- Though he is new here in BRUTAL, Sam Dunk has made a big impact with the crowd in that short time. They were more than ready to see him knock off Yoko Ohno, and possible shut up Gordon! For his part, Gordon was seemingly not in a mood to be merciful, addressing Dunk as he and Ohno made their way to the ring.
"Mr. Dunk, this is the time where I would, in my infinite compassion and generosity, offer my client's opponent the opportunity to avoid a potentially career-limiting injury! But, the BRUTAL Board of Governors--" Gordon is naturally caught off by the chorus of boos and jeers, but pauses only for a moment before continuing, "The BRUTAL Board of Governors has decreed that each match in this Number One Contender tournament MUST have a DEFINITE finish! So, I am sorry to say, you're going to have to get what's coming to you!"
The match began like most of Yoko's matches do, with the big man throwing his weight around and enjoying himself at the expense of his opponent. But Sam was not intimidated by the immense size of his foe, and continued coming right at him, using his long limbs to stay out of Yoko's reach! Both men landed slams and strikes, but Yoko weathered the storm better, and soon had Dunk in the corner for a big splash! Standing in his sumo stance, Yoko gave a short roar and charged, but the taller, leaner Dunk was able to avoid disaster at the last second, letting Yoko crash chest first into the turnbuckles!
Seizing the momentum, Dunk sprung to the top and nailed Yoko right in the back of the head with the Apparition Axe Handle, leveling the big man and putting him down! Then came a herculean effort by Dunk to get Yoko on his back, and make the cover! To everyone's shock, the official's hand fell three times! Sam Dunk defeated Yoko Ohno and will be headed to the finals of the tournament! Dunk stood in the center of the ring and soaked in the adoration in the ring, while Gordon ranted like a madman and Ohno took out his frustration on ringside chairs and tables as the broadcast ended!
NEXT WEEK: We will determine the new Number One Contender to Shane Studd's BRUTAL Championship! Sam Dunk vs Rampage!

BRUTAL Fighting League 26
The Number One Contender Tournament ends tonight! Who will challenge Shane Studd for the BRUTAL Championship at Showdown 3? Will it be the red-hot newcomer Sam Dunk? Or the Behemoth from the Rocky Mountains, Rampage?!
1. Outlaw w/ Olympia vs Cosmic Nightmare -- Since they have arrived here in BRUTAL, the Spine Busters have repeatedly earned the ire of the crowd. Of course, Cosmic Nightmare has been doing that for months, so while there was not much vocal support for Outlaw in this match, a good portion of the crowd just wanted to see Nightmare get beaten! That was not to be tonight, however, as Outlaw got knocked as cold as the vast depths of space thanks to one big Cosmic Hook!
2. Croak w/ Chomper vs Warhawk -- As has become a well known sight over the lastfew weeks, the massive Croak and the vicious Chomper came out together, while Warhawk was on his own. The numbers game proved a distraction for Warhawk early on, as he head to keep one eye on his opponent and one on Chomper on the outside! But this is not the veteran's first rodeo, and Warhawk was able to impress his will on Croak, picking up the victory after nailing his larger opponent with the War Dance! After the match, Chomper immediately launched himself into the ring to attack Warhawk, but both he and Croak were chased away by the timely arrival of Ultra Sanda!
3. Finals: Sam Dunk vs Rampage -- Everything has been building up to this! The crowd is buzzing with anticipation for the finals of the tournament, seemingly ready to explode. And explode they do as Rampage is the first to enter -- the monster who has run roughshod over opponents beloved and hated alike! For his part Rampage simply soaks it up, enjoying the venom being poured upon him. The mood does a 180 with the introduction of Sam Dunk, as the crowd has quickly grown to appreciate and admire the talents of the Baller, and will only adore him more if he can knock off Rampage!
The match begins furiously, with Rampage looking to maul Dunk and end things quickly, but Dunk using his superior speed and agility to frustrate the bigger man. Dunk hits and moves, using his long reach to early advantage. But Rampage is not a glass jawed rookie, and soon the big man has his paws on Dunk, slamming him to the mat and pounding with his fists. The crowd is completely behind Dunk now, as he manages a rope break and regains his feet to face Rampage again.
Once more Dunk uses his reach, but again Rampage closes range, pummeling Dunk with his fists as he has done to Crimson Cross and Disturbed Youth! But Dunk's long limbs came into play again, as the Baller was able to spring up and over Rampage, escaping the corner, and nailing him with a jumping Apparition Axe Handle to the back of the head, sending Rampage's face crashing into the turnbuckle!
Dazed, Rampage turned around to be met by Dunk, who had ran into the far ropes for momentum, dashing full speed, and leaping up, his right hand tomahawking through the air to strike Rampage between the eyes with the Ghost Baller Bash! His eyes glazed behind his mask, Rampage teetered for a second, and then fell to his back like a ton of bricks! Dunk quickly went for the lateral press with the leg hooked and the official started the count, one... two... three! Sam Dunk has pinned Rampage!
Stunned silence immediately gives way to jubilation, as the crowd has seeming seen the unthinkable! With Rampage still on his back from the thunderous blow, Dunk climbed the ropes in the far corner, waving his pointed index and middle fingers to the crowd in a sign of love while they showered him with cheers. It seems that a new fan favorite has emerged in BRUTAL!
NEXT WEEK: Sam Dunk will challenge Shane Studd for the BRUTAL Fighting League Championship at Showdown 3! We will have the contract signing between the two men, as well as a complete run down of the entire card! Only on the BRUTAL Fighting Network!

BRUTAL Fighting League 27
We are ONE WEEK away from BRUTAL Showdown 3, where BRUTAL Fighting League Champion Shane Studd will defend his title against the new Number One Contender,Sam Dunk! And we will have the contract signing here tonight!
1. Road Rage vs Muck -- Opening the show was a clash between two monsters which would never have been confused for a mat classic or wrestling clinic. The two hosses threw haymakers at one another, and took turns slamming and crushing each other into corners. The finish came when Muck was able to pick up what can only be called a small upset with his Muckraker. Road Rage was clearly angry with this turn of events, though, and laid out Muck with his chain after the match to a chorus of boos!
2. El Halcon vs Headhunter -- The next matchup saw what looked like a tremendous mismatch, as the speedy and agile El Halcon was pitted against the uncontrollable Headhunter! Halcon was seemingly not impressed with Headhunter, taunting and jawing at the bigger man, but if this bothered Headhunter, he gave no indication! Halcon used his quickness to befuddle and avoid Headhunter, striking with his fists and feet to put the big man on his heels. But it was not enough, and in the end Headhunter simply ran Halcon over with the Head-On Collision for the victory! Following the match, Headhunter received a warm response from the crowd, as the belly drummed in celebration in the ring.
After the match, a video package begins to unspool, hyping the card for Showdown3! It begins with the standard BRUTAL Fighting League graphics and branding, then shifts into footage of the last two months worth of television. The package begins to transition to specific individuals, followed by a title card for each match, revealing:
--Olympia (w/ Outlaw) vs Proton (w/Neutron)! --Ultra Sanda vs Croak! --Disturbed Youth vs Yoko Ohno... with the winner to face Rampage to determine the next Number One Contender for the BRUTAL Fighting League Championship!
The package cuts now to footage of Sam Dunk's victories in the Number One Contender Tournament, defeating Cosmic Nightmare, Yoko Ohno, and finally Rampage; intercut with this is footage of Shane Studd not only in the ring, but out of the ring, living the high life as champion!
--BRUTAL Fighting League Champion Shane Studd vs Sam Dunk! ("Card subject to change" is of course in very small letters.) The crowd as expected roars for the announcement of the card. With the video ended, the ring has been set up for the contract signing: carpet laid down, table, two chairs, the works.
Introduced first is Sam Dunk, who receives a tremendous response from the crowd, having clearly won their approval over the last couple of months in BRUTAL. Sam does his usual routine of pointing to the different sides of the arena with his index and middle fingers to huge cheers. But as his music fades, a tense hush falls over the crowd...
...which utterly explodes when the champion's music starts! Shane Studd slowly walks onto the stage, the BRUTAL Championship around his waist, flanked by Disturbed Youth and Dr. Matematico. With this show of strength, it's clear that Studd is not taking the newcomer lightly! To the jubilation of the crowd, ZDL makes their way down to the ring. Studd pauses outside for a moment, looking left and right over the crowd before climbing up the ringsteps and ducking between the ropes, followed by Youth and the Irrational Luchador. His compatriots take up positions on the two corners while Studd walks towards Dunk, picking up a microphone from the table.
"Sam Dunk! Let me be the first to congratulate you on making your way through the tournament, and EARNING a shot at MY championship!" Studd pauses and gives around of applause, prompting the crowd to do the same. Dunk, for his part, looks bemused.
"Earn that shot you did, and let me tell you, I am glad you were able to survive that tournament. I am glad! Glad because that means I get to defend this title against an actual competitor, not some freak like that rocks-for-brains Rampage, or that fat piece from Japan and his loudmouth toadie!" Another pause for approval."So knowing that, knowing that when I look across the ring at Showdown 3 that it'll be a legit competitor looking back at me, I mean it, that makes me glad! And when I pin your shoulders down to the mat, 1, 2, 3, and retain this title, then all of these people out here will know, that it was two MEN at work in that ring!" And with that, Studd plops the mic back on the table, picks up a pen and scrawls his signature on the contract.
Dunk is quiet for a moment, looking around the arena, before picking up his microphone. "You're glad? You're... glad... that I... "was able to survive?" Son, you better listen up!" The air comes out of the arena at that moment, as The Baller's face turns to stone, and Studd's eyes flash fire.
"Sam Dunk didn't "survive" that tournament! I DOMINATED that tournament! I took on all the best this league has, and guess what? I beat 'em all, and I did it without having a pair of goons in my back pocket either!" This brings a loud "ooooooh" from the crowd as Dunk disses ZDL. "And next week? Huh, yeah, you're gonna get a first hand account of what it means to stand across the ring from me, when I take that big gold belt from around your waist!" The crowd responds positively to that one, the excitement of this matchup becoming palpable. Dunk casually tosses aside his microphone and also signs the contract, the stares right at Studd.
Studd returns the stare, a slight unease starting to permeate the building. Slowly, Studd extends his right hand across the table to Dunk. Dunk hesitates for a long moment, but returns his hand, and the two shake hands. Perhaps a half-moment too long, as they test each other, but Dunk releases the grip and powders out of the ring. The broadcast ends with the two men staring each other down amidst the cheers of the crowd.
NEXT WEEK: SHOWDOWN 3!
